1971 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Real Deal Reasonable Rides and Rods presents a 1971 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS for your consideration. As you will see in the picture of the cowl tag, it contains the Z27 code indicating a real SS. The car is equipped with power steering and power brakes. The car was originally paint code 49 (Antique Green), but has been painted a high quality bright red. There are no signs of the green anywhere. The paint has a beautiful shine and really attracts a crowd. There are minor chips and scratches, as you might expect from being driven, but overall a great presentation. The car received all new seals after painting. All of the trim is in great shape. The rear bumper is new, but the front bumperettes do have some light pitting. The trunk pan is original and in good shape. The floors are solid. The car has sub frame connectors installed. The front suspension is tight and has been rebuilt at some point. The 350 engine, while not numbers matching, is a 1970 350 out of a SS Camaro. The block code is 3970014 with T0421CRE stamped on the pad, indicating a 1970 350/300 hp engine. The engine has been rebuilt at some point and runs excellent. The engine is equipped with an aluminum intake, Holley carburetor, and headers. It sounds great and appears to have a mild cam. The transmission is a turbo 350 and operates as it should. The rear end is the original 10 bolt posi with 3.42 gears. The car has new front disc/rear drum brakes and master cylinder. The exhaust appears to be fairly new and sounds great. The interior is in great condition. The carpet and headliner are fairly new. All other interior pieces are in great shape. There is a slight crack in the driver’s seat (as seen), but it is minor. The rest of the seats are in great shape. The factory gauges and tach are not currently working, but there is a set of aftermarket gauges. All lights and the wipers work as they should. The car rides on a set of Chevrolet rally wheels. Overall this is a very nice real Camaro SS that can be immediately enjoyed and driven. I have a clear title in hand. As a side note, we can have our painter add the SS stripes to the car in either white or black for an extra $1000.
