1978 MG Midget 1500 California Car Many new parts, including top (hanging in garage), tires, cat. conv., complete exhaust, electric cooling fan, new fan clutch (uninstalled), 4 chrome wheel rings and center caps (uninstalled), oil, plugs, plug wires, fuel gauge sender, floor mats and other assorted installed little parts. After I got the car I worked on it a lot and drove it around a bunch, the 500 or so on the trip odometer. Never had a problem. Tight front end, rare 3.73 differential, minimal surface rust, minor crinkle in right front fender, various little scratches and dings. No cracks in dash, needs carpet set, drivers seat has some seam splitting, interior panels in decent shape, all in all, a very restorable project. Last time I moved it the clutch felt a bit spongy, may need bleeding. The only big problem is the engine has a bit of a vibration. Only really a problem at high RPM's. I suspect it's not a big repair. I had one of these cars years ago, and I got real good at taking the engine and tranny out. The earlier models had the straight cut gears for first gear, and whined quite loudly. After changing out that tranny 3 times, I settled on the original one. I could change the tranny and be back on the road in 8 hours with a long lunch break. This car has the Triumph 1500 engine and tranny, full synchromesh. So that's it, I think I mentioned everything. It has been sitting for a year now, covered by a tarp, you could probably drive it home close by, but a trailer would be better. I'll throw in all the other parts I can find. Oh yeah, after I worked on it, it passed smog with flying colors, all the equipment is still there. Now for the official stuff. Buyers may come inspect the vehicle, I work weekdays until 2:30, so there is some time after that in daylight. Weekends are also possible. I have the car for sale locally, so I reserve the right to pull the listing if I get a local offer. A non refundable deposit of at least $500 via paypal must be recieved within 24 hours of close of auction. NO ZERO FEEDBACK BUYERS.
