This Auction is for a very desireable, 1962 Mercedes 220seb coupe. although designed during the fintail benz era, this top of the line W111 series coupe did not feature exagerated fins, rather an extremely tastefull body with elegant lines. This particular vehicle comes in the best color combination possible for a classic benz (in my opinion that is) Silver with red leather interior. This car lived most of it's life overseas, it had been given a brand new leather interior, new carpeting and a bare metal respray approx 7 years ago. I purchased this car from the gentleman who imported it, and all taxes duties etc are paid. although the paint is fairly recent, it has suffered from transport and being in storage and will need a respray, but it is an extremely solid car, and will require little to no body work, the engine runs, and the car does drive but will require new exhaust, brakes checked and general going over. it has not been on the road for some time, and has spent several years in various stages of restoration. the interior is generally quite nice, the wood dash will require refinishing, but seats are new, and door panels are very nice. the chrome is complete, the car was going to go in for paint again, so at this time the bumpers are loosley held in place for easy removal. There are very few Right hand drives classic benz' like this, if you live overseas, perhaps in the UK and love these cars, this would be an ideal opportunity to get one that is RHD. This could be a very short term project to get on the road, or an outstanding start to a restoration. The vehicle is being sold 'as is' due to age. I would recomend coming by and having a look at the car for yourself prior to bidding. I want the new owner to be happy with thier purchase :) I will add more photos shortly. I welcome bids from all over the world, please know that shipping arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. please contact me for any questions, and please look at my feedback if you have any concerns.On Dec-30-10 at 19:24:25 PST, seller added the following information: you may nitice that there is primer on the drivers door, it is not a reflection of a large dent, rather flat grey primer. also I have the two large trim pieces which run along the rocker panel and into the door sill, pass. and driver. although the car was at a country car show in this picture, it was taken there during prep, so please understand the car was going to be repainted, and just didn't get around to it yet. the only visable spot of rust is surface rust on the roof, it was scuffed in storage and developed into surface rust. that's visable on the rear roof picture. otherwise it a fairly clean body. the interior is a little dusty, but will post the pictures after I get a chance to clean the leather. cheers. On Jan-02-11 at 22:04:28 PST, seller added the following information: just wanting to give a more thorough description, the body of the car is quite solid, the trunk floor is decent with minor rust starting at on lower well drain hole. The roof has some bubbling which will need attention, otherwise the body is quite good and with a paint job would turn out very nice. The interior had been redone some years ago, it is still very nice, leather soft. but the red has faded a bit on the rear seat back. the steering wheel is white, and has cracked. the dash cluster is in need of immediate refinishing. there is a bit of trim removed off the car (taken off for body work) but is all there. the clutch / brakes need doing, The motor was running very well in the summer, and the car was driven short distance at that time. This car is not far off from being completed, but is a car in need of restoration. so please don't expect to drive it home. I will answer any questions I can, and will get some more pictures up as soon as I can. These are an absolutley stunning car, I hope that the new owner sees the potential.
