Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a 1970 Chevelle SS 396. This car is a real SS 396 car that has last been registered in 1981 from what I can tell, and that was in Georgia. It is a true “barn find”. Odometer reads 55,000 miles. I purchased the vehicle from the person that brought it out. What you see in the pics is what I have, and is the exact way I purchased the car. I was going to restore the car, but just don’t have the resources. The original engine and transmission are long gone. The rear end is “CCW” (3:31 ratio) and is dated from March of 70, and appears to be original with car. It is not a posi vehicle. Note that the wheels on the car are just rollers. The original “SS” wheels come with the car, but the tires were so dry rotted I did not trust airing them up. Original "SS" steering wheel is part of car also. A few ways I know this is a true SS car, and other info: 1. The TH 400 kickdown switch is still on the pedal 2. Still has the brown tach wire and TH400 leads through the firewall. 3. Car did not have cowl induction hood. 4. Car does have gauges with 5,500 redline tach. 5. Car has original intermediate shaft (two piece – big block/SS only) 6. Has power disc brakes, and has valve on drivers side rear as was found on original disc cars. 7. Has original rear suspension, including boxed lower arms, special driver side upper arm with the plate, reinforcing bars, and sway bar. 8. The drivers door still has the original sticker with the vin tag on it!!! 9. There are no holes in doors or quarters where the Malibu trim would be. 10. you can see the outline of a sticker from a used car dealer in Valdosta, GA. Interior: The door panels appear original, and there is no build sheet on it. Has white vinyl interior that needs restoration. Body: The paint on the car, including the stripes, appears to be 100% original. There are some typical roof issues for a vinyl top car. Floors look good with only a small hole under rear seat. Frame looks mint. Doors are very nice. Quarters and trunk floor would need replaced. Cowl Tag: ST 70-13637 A 39018 BDY TR 790 B80 B90 75 A PNT 04B 306348 210216 This was an Atlanta built car, originally code 75 cranberry red, white vinyl top, white bench seat. Build date was 2nd week of April. VIN: 136370A148xxx Car is sold as is where is and comes with no warranty. I have 100% positive feedback over 9 years so bid with confidence. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. If you wish to speak with me over the phone, please send a message with your phone number and I will call. Vehicle is available for viewing if you would like to see prior to bid. Car is stored in Westfield, OH (Medina area) and is about 40 minutes south of Cleveland, and near I-71 & I-76. On Jan-04-11 at 13:35:28 PST, seller added the following information: I have had several people ask me about the build sheet. There is not a sheet on the door panels. I have not looked in any of the seats or above the tank to see if it was there. There could potentially be a sheet in the car. I have not had the opportunity to dig into the car to look for it.
