Vehicle Detail
This is the thirs time I have listed this and it has sold all three times BUT THE BIDDERS COULD NOT PAY.!! PLEASE do not bid if you can not pay for the item. LOOK but DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY. Up for auction is a nicely restored 1984 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 Factory Limousine. This vehicle one of 1280 built in the last year on the Cadillac assembly line and this one has always resided in rust free Florida. Never seen cold or snow, salt or ice. TheAbout the “Series 75” Cadillac CadilCadillac produced “Series 75” Limousine models right off the assembly line from the mid 1930’s up until 1984. Cadillac was the last AMer American automaker to build limousines. All limousines built for the public by custom Coach Builders using standard sedans as a base vehicle. Coach Builders take these sedans and “Chop” them in two adding a middle section to lengthen the car. The Series 75 was not a e a chopped car it used an elongated commercial chassis produced right on the assembly line and hand fitted by craftsmen at Cadillac. I am the third owner. This car comes complete with the original invoice from Larry Dimmitt Cadillac in downtown Clearwater Florida. This car has been restored cosmetically and all the mechanicals have been gone through with many mechanical upgrades. The car runs very well for its age and the interior and exterior are spotless as well as the engine compartment. I own a limousine company and we used this car for parades once or twice a year as a promotional vehicle. I am selling it and a 1980 model because we have no space as we are expanding our operation. Describing the car; Exterior: The car underwent a complete exterior restoration, all chrome, trim, bumpers, door handles, old vinyl top was stripped and the body was bead blasted to bear metal and the vehicle was completely reprimed and repaint with the correct cadillac Dark Mist Blue. The paint job alone was $6,000.00. A new correct blue padded full vinyl top was also installed for $1000.00. The chrome and all moldings were taken off the vehicle and hand polished and reinstalled after the paint. The emblems including hood, trunk, script etc. are all new and perfect. The only exterior blemish is the small plastic peice where the body meets the bumper cracked and broke. I am searching for two new fiberglass pieces and may have them at point of sale. Not guaranteed. The vinyl pieces are perfect except for this one and this is a common problem for Cadillacs of this age. The rest of the 145" car is perfect on the outside with no dents, scratches, rust nothing but perfect shine. All four tires are new Dunlop and the hub caps are perfectly new with no scratches, blemishes, rashes or pitting in the chrome and the emblems are like new. I would give the exterior a 9.8 Engine Compartment and Mechanicals: The engine was completely rebuilt with all new gaskets and hoses and runs very well for 97K miles. The engine is a 368 CU / 6.0 Liter Engine with cast iron block and head. I recently had the entire car gone thru and the transmission and brakes were services as well as the AC system. The transmission was rebuilt completely and functions perfectly. The AC Compressor is new, radiator is new, master cylinder and all brake components are new. The entire muffler and exhaust system is new. Engine has no leaks anywhere and engine runs well. Engine compartment is spotlessly clean. Hood insulation is new and perfect. Engine compartment I would rate at a 9 and engine running condition a 9. Trunk: This car has the original full size spare, jack, lug wrench cinyl trunk mat. Trunk is spotlessly clean and as original as when it came from the factory. Interior: The interior is all dark blue leather and vinyl. The door interiors are in perfect condition with the exception of two minor cuts on the driver side door vinyl measuring less than 1 inch each All other door interiors and jams are perfect. The front seat of this car is huge with dark blue leather and perfect cadillac emblems. The seat is extra tall leving only about 10 inch clearence from the roof line to give the passengers in the rear compartment complete privacy. The carpet is perfect dark blue like new and in great shape with the original mats. Headliner is original with no holes rips or tears. Everything works exepct the automatic door locks and the radio fades in and out. AC works well and blows cold and was converted to new coolant. The rear compartment fits five people, three on the massive dark blue leather rear seat which is original and in very good condition. Two in jump seats which are blue velour. The carpet is new and perfect dark blue and there is a gold Cadillac emblem on the floor on the hump. All passenger functions work perfectly. Known Defects- there is one vinyl piece on the passenger side fender next to the bumper that is cracked, All are new and the rest are perfect. Leather on the steering wheel is not perfect, radio goes in and out. We have spent over $15,000.00 restoring this fine limousine and we know there is no way we could recoup our investment. The reserve is very, very low considering what we have in the vehicle and its condition. We have described this vehicle to the best of our knowledge, remember you are bidding on a 26 year old restored vehicle not a factory new Cadillac from 2010. Have questions? ASK before you bid. email kenlucci@earthlink.net or through ebay.
