For Pontiac 1964 was the year of the GTO. As the story goes, John DeLorean and company installed the 389 engine from a full size Pontiac Catilina into a midsized Tempest Lemans, thus starting the muscle car era. This GTO is a numbers matching car, with 389 Tri-power, intake and carbs. The color code for this GTO is "L", or Marimba red, and interior color code is "219" Parchment. It is obviously a convertible, and is automatic with power windows option. This vehicle has been verified by Pontiac Historic Society. I took this car in on trade for a 1949 Mercury Woodie that I had. The story on this GTO is that a gentleman in Colorado borrowed the money to do a frame-off rottiserie restoration. He had the body removed the frame completed, and body media blasted and rust removed. He defaulted on the note and took the bank took the car back. A man in Ohio bought the car from the bank. He then traded it toward my '49 Woodie. It appears to be all/mostly all there. I have boxes and boxes of parts. I will answer any questions on the GTO to the best of my knowledge. I am a Ford guy but will do my best. I would recommend viewing the GTO and parts prior to bidding. I recently had a daughter with a major heart defect and will not have the time or money to restore this GTO. I may consider "interesting trades", but have no time for a project or I wouldn't be selling this one. Please contact me with any questions you may have.
