Very nice 1979 Camaro Z28. Newer glossy paint and decals which are in excellent condition. Very minimal rust, undercarriage rust free. I give the overall body, paint and undercarriage condition an 8. This Z28 is definately a head turner. There is a little bit of bubbling at the very bottom of the rear fender, by the door, very common for this age Camaro. Very repairable. I have purchased but not installed rear Fender flares to give it the full effect, (see picture), a easy install, which will cover the small rust bubbles. This car is very original looking, My plan was to lose the traction bars and install the new rear wheel flares. I may still remove the traction bars this week if I can get to it. Running condition: Odometer stopped at 97,000. I have no idea how many miles it has, I guess 120,000. Good running car, has had the original Rochester 4 barrell replaced with an Edelbrock. and an electric fan replaced the factory belt driven fan. This Z28 also has slightly loud headers which can be replaced with quieter mufflers for about $200. Automatic tranny shifts very nicely. The brakes work fine, but I think a new booster is on the horizon. The car is missing its a/c compressor, it has everything else. The good news is all these parts for a 79 Chevy are so cheap. New compressor and clutch $200. This is a very good car to tinker with, it has a few relatively simple projects that will keep you busy on weekends. Tires: have good tread but showing dry rot. Interior: Very nice red interior, has fading and needs some attention, the dash has no cracks. Ricks Camaros has the paint to freshen up the red panels. A great daily driver. I have a friend in the shipping business, he can get this car almost anywhere in the United States for $800. T-Tops: Work very well.
