1997 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck. Has A/C, cruise control, power windows, locks and side mirrors. 74,700 original miles. I bought this truck from my buddy when he was leaving on deployment. He bought it brand new back in '97. I have had the truck for one year. In that year I repaired and replaced much on the truck. Just recently the transmission stopped working properly and I have decided that I am done with it. The truck will move onto a flatbed or trailer, but the trans needs to be rebuilt before driving any distance. The vin is listed and you can run a car fax. I will list all the good and the bad. THE GOOD: The truck has no rust on the body, never did. Still wears the factory paint. The a/c works. The cruise control works. The engine runs great as a low mile engine should. Interior is real nice for a 14 year old truck with only one small rip on the drivers seat. Never smoked in. Also has a removable hard bedcover that raises up and has full bedliner. The tires are only about 1 1/2 years old and have tons of life left in them. There is also a brand new spare (same as the 4 on the truck) mounted and laying in the bed. All lights work as they should. Truck has a factory hitch on the back. The pig tail for the lights is still in the plastic bag from Dodge. Never hit or had any type of bodywork. Dash is not cracked or busted up like so many of these are. This year I have repaired or replaced: Rusted brake lines were replaced and the old fluid bled out and replaced with new. Brand new catalytic converter and muffler 2 months ago. New cap, rotor, wires and plugs and pcv valve. New evap solenoid, line and evap charcol canister. Lower intake plenum was repaired using the Hughes Engines repair kit. I have a brand new set of rotors and pads for the front that I have not done yet because the fronts are still fine. THE BAD: The transmission needs to be REPLACED or REBUILT! That is what I was told by a transmission shop so ASSUME IT TO NEED JUST THAT. Small parking lot dings and scratches. One small dent that is visible in the passenger side photo just above the tail light. Could probably be popped out but I never tried. Cassette player eats tapes, always did. Some rust starting on rear bumper. I will answer any and all questions through ebay. This truck is being sold AS IS-WHERE IS.
