UP FOR SALE IS THIS 1976 HONDA 550. THIS MOTORCYCLE HAS A MICHIGAN TITLE (BUT THE BIKE IS HERE IN GA). CLEAN TITLE/NO SALVAGE!!! LAST OWNERS TITLE WAS ISSUED IN 2009 AND BIKE WAS RIDDEN LAST IN 2009. BIKE HAS BEEN SITTING FOR OVER A YEAR. ALL THE PARTS ARE THERE. RIGHT SIDE COVER HAS A CRACKED SIDE COVER (NOT STOCK). LEFT SIDE COVER IS NOT STOCK, SEEMS TO BE OK. THE GREEN TANK IS SLIGHTY DISCOLORED (NOTICEABLE UP CLOSE). THE BIKE IS VINTAGE....OLD......NOT PERFECT.....USED........NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING....SHOWS IMPERFECTIONS AND SOME RUSTING......JUST TO MAKE IT VERY CLEAR. ENGINE IS NOT SEIZED AND HAS FINE COMPRESSION. THE SPEEDO IS COSMETICALLY SOUND. THE TACH HAS VERY NOTICEABLE CRACKS IN THE PAINT OF THE DIAL. NO BIG DEAL AND VERY REPLACEABLE. THE SEAT IS ORIGINAL. HAS 2 SPLITS. ONE WAS POORLY TAPED UP OVER A YEAR AGO. THE UNDERNEATH OF THE SEAT IS (IN MY OPINION) VERY GOOD SHAPE. THE TOPS OF THE FENDER (UNDERNEATH THE SEAT) USUALLY GETS PRETTY RUSTED UP.....BUT NOT THIS ONE. SEE THE PHOTO. THERE IS SOME RUST HERE AND THERE.....BUT AGAIN, NOTHING A LITTLE 200 GRIT SANDPAPER AND A WEEKEND COULDN'T CHANGE. THE FRONT AND REAR FENDERS ARE BLACK. I HAVE NO IDEA IF THAT IS HOW THEY CAME STOCK OR NOT.....BUT IVE NOT SEEN IT LIKE THAT. THE PAINT ON THE FENDERS (IM MY UNPROFESSIONAL OPINION) LOOKS LIKE IT IS FACTORY DIRECT. THE SHOCKS (IN MY OPINION) WERE PAINTED BEFORE I PURCHASED THE MOTORCYCLE. THE EXHAUST TIPS ARE NOT STOCK (OF COURSE) AND ARE A TAD RUSTED BUT I DID NOT NOTICE ANY HOLES ANYWHERE. THE TANK (EXTERIOR) IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. I DONT SEE ANY DENTS OR DINGS ANYWHERE IN THE METAL. THE TANK (INTERIOR) SHOWS SOME RUSTING, BUT NOT MUCH. IVE SEEN THEM MUCH, MUCH WORSE. PLEASE SEE THE PHOTO. TURN SIGNAL SWITCHES, LIGHT/LOW BEAM SWITCHES, ON/OFF SWITCH, ORIGINAL 1976 HONDA KEY ARE ALL THERE. THIS BIKE IS REALLY NICE AND POWERFUL. YOU COULD GET HER RUNNING AND BE BACK ON THE ROAD. THIS MOTORCYCLE IS A OUTSTANDING CANDIDATE FOR A CAFE RACER CONVERSION!!! THE BLACK FENDERS AND GREEN TANK IS AN AWESOME COMBINATION AS IT IS....BUT ITS ALL THERE TO DO AS YOU WISH.... THERE IS NO 'BOX OF PARTS' WITH HER......EVERYTHING IS THERE....ON THE BIKE. THERE IS A FUEL FILTER IN THE GAS LINE (PREVENTS RUST FROM GETTING TO THE ENGINE) AND IT IS CLEAN OF ANY VISIBLE DEBRIS. COMES WITH A ORIGINAL 1977 CHILTON'S REPAIR & TUNE-UP GUIDE TO GUIDE YOU ALONG WITH YOUR NEW VINTAGE PURCHASE.... Thank you for looking. meme_of_maxi_moo_moo On Dec-21-10 at 12:11:30 PST, seller added the following information: UPDATE: ON 12.21.10 (today) @ 1:33PM, I took the liberty of having the VIN #'s run by the Cherokee Police Department and Motor Vehicle Processing Center of GA. The motorcycle has a clean bill of health (ie not stolen). This paperwork, SIGNED by the Police Officer and DATED by the Police Officer with his name, badge number, phone number, etc...and WILL ACCOMPANY THE MOTORCYCLE AND WHOMEVER BUYS IT. I am posting this because I received an 'alarming' email from a GA ebayer....making suggestions about the motorcycle. I HAVE ALL PAPERWORK from the State of Georgia........SIGNED.......by the Cherokee PD officer who ran the numbers. The numbers were all run and came back as CLEAN. In addition, I am providing the telephone number for the Police Department on my listing. I am very disappointed that this 'GA ebayer' would make such a suggestion..... No idea what their motive is..... ESPECIALLY during the holidays. I just dont know what to say...
