Vehicle Detail

This car is titled as a '75, but only because the engine is such. Most of the rest of the car is a '64. I've even considered going to the DMV to have it re-titled as a '64 but haven't yet since I'm moving soon. The car is registered as an antique in the State of Florida until Jan 2012, so there is a little over a year left on the current registration. I bought this car from a guy in Savannah a while ago and am selling her because I'm moving to Hawaii for three years. I don't want to store it, and I don't want to ship it. It's a great car now. When I bought the car, the engine, among other things, was in pretty bad shape. I had the engine overhauled with the rest of the car almost a year ago with the following brand new items: Rear Wheel Cylinder Rear Brake Shoes Spark plugs Negative Engine Ground Cable Fuel Pump (electric) Elbow Clamp Complete set of Pistons Clutch Disc Head Gasket Valve Cover Gasket Exhaust system Ring Gear Ignition Condenser Oil Pressure Switch Swivel Hub (L/F) I also installed some lapbelts in all four seats. The two in the rear were missing when I bought the car, and the driver's side seat belt broke. Anyway, she has four lap belts now (from an 89 Oldsmobile station wagon). I like the lap belts rather than the shoulder belts. The car has been sitting a couple months, and there is visible rust (shown in some of the pictures-- some pictures show the paint bubbling as well). There is a small gash in the ceiling upholstery (shown in the pictures). The Odometer is exempt on the title and physically not working. I estimate that I've put on just under a thousand miles since getting all that work done. If I were going to hang on to this car a little longer (If I weren't going to Hawaii), my next project was going to be to re-wire the entire car and update it with some relays (the lights currently dim when the horn is honked, etc). It's got some quirky (not safety issues) electrical oddities every now and then. Any classic mini owner will tell you that the electrical systems in these old British cars weren't the greatest; and they'd tell you that these cars are tinkering cars. I would drive it to work every day, but it takes some tweaking every now and then with the carb or some other piece of equipment. It's a great car for going around town. I wish I were older and had this car after having been retired; it just requires more attention, as does any classic British car (check some different forums on the internet-- you'll see). I wanted to be up front so you knew what you were buying. This car isn't for you if you are an aggressive driver. She's a blast to drive and she'll bring smiles to faces of everyone going down the street. The occasional wave or thumbs up is pretty nice too. I will not sell internationally. The buyer will take care of shipping costs. I will require a 500 dollar non-refundable deposit via paypal within 24 hours of winning bid, to prevent me from having people backing out on the auction. I will require full payment within 1 week of auction ending or I will re-list the car (if I haven't heard from you or haven't already worked something out with you). Upon end of auction, I will contact you to work out payment (via Cashier's Check, or cash if in person), and transfer of title and registration. At any rate, if you have any questions about the car, please email me and I'll try to answer the best I can. I've included the Haynes manual (I've modified one of the electrical diagrams in there to reflect my battery cutout switch) for the car that shows step by step processes on how to do any work on the car. On Dec-11-10 at 14:21:31 PST, seller added the following information: I just revised the listing to lower the reserve price and the buy it now price. I'm moving to Hawaii in less than a month and am not going to have time to list it again if it doesn't sell. This will hopefully allow it to sell this time and give me time to arrange for shipment and transfer of title to the winner of the auction. NO RESERVE.
