The exterior is finished in a shiny DB932 Lapis Blue Metallic Paint (I've yet to see another in this color either. Most I see are solid and not metallic paint) with a Blue MB Tex Interior. This 300CD spent many years in Texas and California and it shows. The body super clean. You won't find any rust bubbling through like many you will find. All trim is intact and in good condition. The rockers and floor are solid. The body is strait and does not show any dents or damage. All original glass is present and all windows work. Inside everything is intact and working. Visibility is great in the 300CD Coupe. With no B-Pillar, there is virtually no blind spot in this car. The Heat and A/C Controls work as they should. The A/C Compressor was recently replaced along with many hoses. All of the power windows work as they should. All door locks and pneumatic systems work. Even the factory antenna works. It does not appear to have been smoked in. There are no strange odors or smells inside. Carpets and headliner are in great shape. The front and rear seats are in great condition and very comfortable to sit in. The seats are far from worn out. Both the springs and the pad are very supportive and comfortable. The drivers seat has a small crack in the vinyl on the bolster. See the photos. The door panels are in great condition. Best of all, the dash has no cracks. Blue W123 dashes are hard to find without cracks. This one is impeccable. The wood does have some cracking in the finish, but is very presentable as is. All doors open and shut as they should thanks to a replaced drivers door check. Under the hood you will find a young 5 Cylinder Diesel engine that has been well maintained and serviced. If you're looking at this car, you probably already know the reputation of the Mercedes-Benz 5-Cylinder Diesel Engines. It starts up everytime without hesitation and without excessive smoke. I've have started the car on the few 30 degree days we've had with no hesitation. In my experience the car gets about 32 MPG mixed driving. The battery was replaced in September. The 4 Speed Automatic Transmission was completely overhauled at 182K Miles. It was disassebled, cleaned, rebuilt, and also got a new torque converter, governor and modulator at a cost of about $3,400 dollars. At 181K Miles the starter was replaced at a cost of about $750. The injection pump, several vacuum lines, glow plugs, thermostat and coolant were done at about 178K miles at a cost of about $2100 dollars. The rear axles, several suspension bushings, drive shaft flex discs, brakes, fluids, and belts were replaced at about 175K for about of $1600. The A/C compressor was replaced along with several hoses in 07 at a cost of about $700. This 300CD has been very well maintained and it shows under the hood and behind the wheel. This 300CD also features a LoveCraft BioFuels Kit that allows the car to be run on Veggie Oil. The kit is on the car now and you can run it off of veggie oil or diesel. Your choice. It drives straight and doesn't pull to one side or the other when braking and does so smoothly so you know the rotors aren't warped. Acceleration is smooth and it can easily keep up with traffic.
