Selling an 89 honda civic crx project car. First I'll state the good, and then the bad. First this car is a daily driver and it's very reliable. It has an automatic transmission. It also has an alpine cd player in it, (needs a new antenna to get good radio reception) and a viper remote start 2 way paging alarm on it. It's been repainted that metallic sky blue and doesn't look too bad. This car is 20 years old and qualifies for historic plates in maryland which means you don't have to ever go through safety nor emissions inspection ever. It has after market power windows, and remote controlled power door locks with the viper alarm. It has one front right door speaker hooked up (i believe the left is there but not hooked up), and a house speaker in the back for music. You can hook up a better system if you want but it's not bad for a cheap little commuter car. At least the cd player works so you can hear the music you love while you drive. There are no leaks on the ground, no smoking, and the car runs and drives well. The Engine drives with plenty of power for a 4 cyclinder, the transmission works great, the steering is straight and has does not have any alignment issues. The tires are good. The brake pads may eventually need replacing but the brakes work well, they don't make any noise but I recently had to top off the brake fluid.The previous owner told me the car has been completely rebuilt from a shell. It was his daily driver also. I'm totally confident in the cars reliability. I would drive it anywhere, and have no qualms of taking my 7 year old son anywhere in it. It needs a driver side CV boot as it clicks when turning. I have purchased the boot and will probably be replacing it tonight, so you probably don't need to worry about that. I will update the listing when i complete that. The hood latch handle is broken. Currently there is a pair of pliers to pull the cable to release the hood. The exhaust pipe had some rust around the flange where the muffler connects. I cut out that section and bolted on a straight pipe to replace that flange. It should hold fine but you might want to eventually have a pipe welded on at a shop. There is a occassional tin rattling noise (that happens randomly) I believe its a heat shield on the exhaust pipe, and i haven't been able to find it yet without a second person to hit the gas to get it to just the right moment when it makes the rare noise. There are a few ideal types of buyers, see if this fits you: 1> someone who's hunting for a CRX specifically to hook up. (Take a look at the crx prices on ebay, they're from like 3 to 6 thousand dollar collector cars) or 2> someone wanting cheap hassle free reliable honda made transportation that they don't have to worry about putting through MD state inspections. or 3>A parent buying a car for their new driver, being practical in the cost, a popular yet economical car that gets good mileage, and serves the persons needs without spoiling them. (or all of the above :) )I'd love to keep it with $3 gas here, but it's not the best family car, nor the main car and the wife says it has to go. I'd be interested in trading it for a 4door historic 4 cylinder if anyone is interested.
