Vehicle Detail
**NO RESERVE PRICE** 1961 International Harvester SCOUT 80 4x4. Traveller style top. Reasonably low (early) serial #13754. Reasonably low mileage (28073) I'm certain it's original. Clear title. Line setting ticket still in glovebox. Owners and service manual. Only the wheels are non-stock. 15" instead of the original 16". New window gaskets in the top. Rebuilt brake and clutch master cylinders. Rebuilt clutch slave cylinder. New clutch fluid hose. Rebuilt carburetor. New fuel pump. New battery. Engine serviced. Fuel tank and lines removed and cleaned. New fuel filler hose and locking cap (single tank only). Radiator cleaned and serviced. All the electrics are the original DELCO, including the "T3" headlamps. This is a bench seat Scout with a non-removable bulkhead. Seat slide-rails were cleaned and re-lubed (work perfectly). This Scout was sold new in Yakima WA. (desert country) and spent it's life there as a hunting and fishing vehicle. It has been un-used at least as long as 12 years. It now runs and drives and stops just fine. I have more new parts that go with it. Gaskets, seals, brake cylinder kits etc. I painted the interior floor with POR-15 to arrest further rust development. The floors and mounts are solid. It has the original (and optional) KNOX rear bumper. The engine is the original 4 cylinder and 3 speed transmission with twin-stick transfer case. I have not personally seen a more untouched and original early Scout than this one. It's not perfect, but it is 50 years old. Hopefully the photos will tell you what you need to know. Ask questions otherwise. I can't think of a better restoration candidate than this SCOUT. If your not Scout knowledgable, max road speed is about 55 mph (4:27 gear ratio). It's not a commuter candidate. NO POWER ANYTHING. It's constructed and drives like an IHC road-going farm tractor. If your looking to build a hot rod you will throw away 90% of the current vehicle. Please start with a different Scout than this one. This SCOUT was listed for auction in early August, but the auction was terminated by me. I discovered a title problem and had to remedy it before re-listing it now. As stated before, it has a CLEAR title.
