1986 BMW 535ia Virtually no rust and one of the finest examples of a vintage running e28. The car has had over $3000 invested the last 4000 miles New head gasket and resurface. Complete engine regasket including oil pan. Full tune-up including plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter , silicon vacuum lines. New Magna Flow head pipe with a high flow catalytic converter. Four new Brembo brake rotors with new Pagid red pads from Bavarian Autosport. New Falken tires mounted on e34 5 series rims 215/60/15. New battery. All of the switches are working and the white lettering in very good shape. Interior almost perfect; front and rear seat have no rips, door panels are nice, both blower fans work, good heat but no ac. The instrument panel is fully operational, the trip computer doesn't work, the overhead is working. The strut housings on these e28 cars get rusty, previous owner located two rust free units and so far has installed left side (right side will be included in sale). The headlights also have been upgraded to autopal halogens, the high beams still need to be wired (originals included in sale). You will notice in pics that it has an upgraded 535is trunk lid and front spoiler. Fog lights are not installed in the front spoler (included in sale). Central locking system functional. The state inspection expired and i believe the only things the car would need to pass would be a right front abs sensor and a windshield. Two things i would do right away also if i were keeping is replace power steering pump it is noisy (better when warms); used replacement included, Also new front struts getting noisy. Car runs and drives nicely. Over 3,000 spent in the last year. The body is very solid a couple minor dents as shown in pics on right side just recently added by a vandal. The car has a nice sport steering wheel. I will also include in sale alot of extra e28 parts including driving lights, extra ecu, performance chip and original owners manual. I would love to keep it but it is Christmas and the kids need presents! I would also consider trade for a newer car. Auction may end early as it is also being sold locally. Important Stuff: Car is being sold with a bill of sale and copy of previous registration. There is no title as Rhode Island does not issue them for cars over 10 years old.
