ABSOLUTE DEAL OF A LIFETIME. PERIOD! 1974 260 Z 2+2 ORIGINAL , UMOLESTED, WELL MAINTAINED ORIGINAL CAR ALL PAPERWORK, RECORDS SINCE NEW! RUNS GREAT.. LOOKS GREAT.... DRIVE IT ANYWHERE! I AM NOT GOING TO STATE FOR FACT THAT "THIS IS THE BEST 260 Z IN EXISTENCE"... BUT I HAVE TO THINK IT IS ONE OF THE BEST EXAMPLES OF A MAINTAINED, ORIGINAL, GARAGED CAR. THE 260Z IS A ONE YEAR ONLY MODEL WITH THE GREAT CLASSIC LOOKS OF THE EARLY 240.. BUT COMBINES THE LATER CREATURE COMFORTS (AC/ BETTER HANDELING/ SUSPENSION/ MORE POWERFUL AND RELIABLE ENGINE) OF THE LATER 280 Z AND ZX! THE CAR IS RELIABLE, EASY AND INEXPENSIVE TO MAINTAIN.. AND PARTS (IF NEEDED) ARE READILY AVAILABLE. IT IS A GREAT CLASSIC TO GET INTO THAT CAN BE USED ! IT DRIVES GREAT WITH TODAYS TRAFFIC. HANDLES, STOPS AND ACCELERATES JUST FINE (AND IN A LOT MORE STYLE!!!) WITH TODAYS CARS!!!! THIS IS A SPECIAL LITTLE COUPE. A TRUE 'SURVIVOR ' CAR. 2 DOCUMENTED OWNERS SINCE NEW. THE Z RUNS OUT GREAT AND JUST HAD A FULL SERVICE AT THE NISSAN DEALER. IT'S READY TO RUN ANYWHERE. THE Z WAS SOLD AT LEONARD WARNER , INC IN WINSTON-SALEM, NC ON 3-29-1975 AND DRIVEN AND MAINTAINED IN Asheboro NC UNTIL I PURCHASED IT EARLIER THIS YEAR. THE PAINT IS #306 SILVER, WITH ITS ORIGINAL BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR. STILL SPORTS ITS ORIGINAL CARPET, DASH, SEATS., ETC ALL IN PERFECT SHAPE. ALL LIGHTS, INSTRUMENTS (EXCEPT GAS GAUGE) , DASH LIGHTS, FAN MOTOR, KEYS, LOCKS, ORIGINAL RADIO, REAR DEFROST, CHOKE LEVER AND LIGHT ALL WORK AS NEW. THE ONLY ATTENTION THE CAR NEEDS IS THE FOLLOWING: THE GAS GAUGE QUIT WORKING ON ME ABOUT 4 WEEKS AGO. I TESTED IT AT THE SENDING UNIT BY GROUNDING THE WIRE.. AND THE GAUGE IS FINE... NEEDS A NEW SENDING UNIT. THE AC WORKS OK.... NOT ICY COLD.. BUT THE COMPRESSOR KICKS ON, ETC. STILL R-12 SO IT MIGHT NEED A RECHARGE (IF YOU HAVE R-12, OR CAN FIND A SHOP THAT WILL CHARGE IT FOR YOU!).. OR SWITCH OVER TO 134. OTHER THAN THE ABOVE.. CANNOT THINK OF A THING THE CAR NEEDS, OR ANY OTHER ISSUES.. AND I HAVE DRIVEN IT IT HOT, COLD, SHORT AND LONG DISTANCES. GOOD OIL PRESSURE.. NO OVERHEATING. CAR RUNS DOWN THE ROAD GREAT. STARTS UP NO PROBLEM.. HOT, OR COLD.... IDLES GREAT.. RUNS OUT SUPER. NO FLAT SPOTS, OR HESITATIONS. VERY FAST. 4 SPEED SHIFTS GREAT.. SMOOTH.. NO CLUTCH CHATTER, ETC. TRACKS DOWN THE ROAD STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW. NO WANDERING, OR PULLING. BRAKES GREAT AND STOPS STRAIGHT TRUE. ENGINE IS CLEAN AS CAN BE. ALWAYS MAINTAINED. DOES NOT BURN OIL. NO LEAKS. GOOD OIL PRESSURE AND COMPRESSION. ENGINE IS VERY STRONG. GOOD RESPONCE FROM THE ORIGINAL CARB SET UP. AS STATED, NO STALLING, HESITATION, LUGGING, ETC. PURRS LIKE A KITTEN!!!! REGULAR MAINTENCE AND UPKEEP EVERY 3- 4 MONTHS AT DATSUN/ NISSAN DEALERSHIP OVER THE YEARS.. RECORD FOR EVERYTHING!! TIRES ARE 175 R 14 WITH ABOUT 5K ON THEM. BODY: BODY AND FRAME IS IN FANTASTIC SHAPE. NO RUST/ BUBBLES. 99% ORIGINAL PAINT. IN 1981 SOME PAINT WAS TOUCHED UP DUE TO FADING ON HOOD AND ROOF. DOORS CLOSE PERFECT. ALL THE DOORS/ REAR HATCH. HOOD, ARE ALIGNED STRAIGHT AND OPEN/ CLOSE PERFECT. ALL GLASS IS ORIGNAL AND WINDOWS GO UP AND DOWN LIKE A NEW CAR. NO CRACKS . DELAMINATING, SPIDER CHIPS, FOGGING, ETC IN ANY OF THE GLASS. THE BRIGHTWORK IS ALL IN VERY GOOD SHAPE.. NO PITTING... ALL THE WEATHERSEALS ARE ORIGINAL.. AND SOFT/PLIABLE, ETC. NOT OLD CRACKED, ROTTING STUFF. INTERIOR: IT IS JUST SUPER CLEAN AND ORIGINAL. SEATS ARE ALL SOLID AND STRAIGHT. NO TEARS/ WEAR, SCUFFS, ETC. HEADLINER IS STRAIGHT AND TIGHT, AND CLEAN. SEAT LEATHER IS GREAT. (SEE PICS!!). I DON'T THINK THE BACK SEAT WAS EVER USED, IF AT ALL! rear hatch area is immaculate.. carpet is pefrect.. the cargo straps have never been used. even the original tool kit, complete, with the original instructions are / is there. (and not dirty.. no grimy thumbprints! THE PREVIOUS OWNER MAINLY DROVE THIS AS HIS COMMUTER CAR FROM HIS HOME TO WORK 3 OR 4 DAYS A WEEK. IT WAS NOT USED AS A PRIMARY CAR FOR THE FAMILY!!!. NEVER DRIVEN BY KIDS! DASH LOOKS NEW.. NO CRACKS, FADING, ETC. GAUGES ARE FRESH LOOKING WITH CLEAR PLASTIC LENSES.. NOT DIRTY, SCRATCHED, ETC. ORIGNAL AM/ FM NISSAN RADIO. WORKS JUST LIKE A 1974 "HIFI" STEREO SHOULD! ALL DASH KNOBS, SWITCHES, LEVERS, ETC ARE PRESENT AND IN GREAT CONDITION (BOTH ESTHETICALLY AND FUNCTIONALLY). HOOD LATCH, AIR VENTS, ETC ALL THERE AND WORKING JUST LIKE THEY WERE IN 1974! THE CAR HAS A 'PANTINIA' OF IT'S ORIGINALITY.. BUT IT IS CERTAINLY NOT WORN OUT AT ALL. VERY WELL PRESERVED.. AND ALWAYS GARAGED! THE Z HAS NOT BEEN RESTORED.. AND DOES NOT NEED TO BE RESTORED. INCLUDED WITH THE Z IS 1. A SET OF NOS REAR LOUVERS/ SLATS... IN BOX.. NEVER INSTALLED! (SETS FOR THE 2+2 ARE VERY RARE.. AND VERY HARD TO COME BY.. AND VERY EXPENSIVE) 2. A SET OF THE CLEAR HEADLIGHT COVERS ( VERY COOL LOOKING.. BUT NEVER HAD THE GUTS TO INSTALL THEM BEACUSE YOU NEED TO EITHER DRILL IN THE CAR {WHICH I DID NOT WANT TO DO}..... OR 3M- TAPE THEM ON {WHICH I WAS AFRAID THEY WOULD FLY OFF AND RUIN THE PAINT} 3. ALL SERVICE RECORDS SINCE NEW 4. ORIGINAL OWNEERS MANUAL.. VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION CARD... OWNERS WARRANTY CARD.. 5. SERVICE BOOK 6. I have been on ebay for over 11 years.. i have 100 feedback. i have sold A FEW HIGH END- cars and one truck and LOTS of parts (check my feedback). i take pride in not fluffing anything up. what you see is what you get.. and in most cases (if u read the feedback) most folks are think my 'things' are better than described. I am not a dealer.. not a curbstoner.. just a car guy trying to keep the hobby alive! If it were a perfect world.. i would not be selling this car. I really like it, and enjoy it.. but i guess i have to some fruition, or maturitiy, whatever... that you can only have and properly maintain so many cars. I guess i have found out that if you own too much stuff.. it (like they say) "owns you". Not trying to get all philosophical... but just letting you know why I am selling such a nice car...
