Vehicle Detail
For sale is this 1965 Hi-Po (High Performance) Mustang Fastback. This is a Factory Poppy Red Black interior console car. The car was restored in the 1989 and painted a little darker red. During the restoration, the quarters were replaced along with the front fenders. The Floors received some patches...nothing unexpected for a Mustang along with some new front seat covers. From there the car was parked because the clutch went out, and has been stored in a garage since 1995. Fast Forward to today. The clutch has been replaced and the brakes repaired from setting 15 years. The usual look over when you get a car ready to run and drive. Currently the motor is a standard 289 With the numbers matching 4 speed and correct 9 inch rear end (tapered axle tubes for the early hipos) There are some hipo parts still retained on the engine...the motor mounts are correct 65 HiPo mounts (they are on the car and in good condition. Also the HiPo Z-Bar is still with the car. The choke cable is still with the car. Clearly as mention above the close ratio numbers matching 4 speed and correct 9 inch are with the car. The carb is a cloned autolite with a manual choke. Both rear heat shields and exhaust brackets are there. The correct pinion snubbed for the 9 inch is with the car, not stalled, and the original rebound plate is still attached to the car. The Original Door tag and fender aprons are present and with the car. Th VIN matches the Clear title for the car, along with the transmission stamping. This car is running and driving, and fully functional. This is a great car for someone looking to get into a reasonably price K Code car. The paint does have couple chips in it, the have had a little touch up paint put on it. The carpet is new, and it come with new carpet for the fold down, the seats and headliners are nice. The Dash was freshened up when the car was restored and looks nice. This is a very nice looking car, complete car. There is a small blister about the size of a nickel in the bottom front of the drivers door. From there the floor has a couple of very minor soft spots...that personally, I would not worry about. The front rails look good, and the rear rails have a small blister starting on each side. Nothing that will keep you from driving and enjoying this car for the 5 to 10 years...the restore it. This car look s very nice in person, and will turns some heads as you cruise in to the local car show.
