Vehicle Detail

1972 Firebird Formula 400, 4-speed manual, Red metallic exterior, Black interior, 2-year full nut-and-bolt restoration, $80k plus invested, One of 1,082 manual transmission Formulas for 1972, Original build sheet, M20 transmission, Original engine and rear end, Offered at a fraction of the cost to duplicate. This 1972 Firebird Formula 400 was completed as a labor of love. Finished in a striking coat of red metallic, many hours have been devoted to the high level of finish on the paint alone. Further inspection reveals many other details unique to this car—the body colored engine compartment, gloss-finished suspension members, and a pristine interior (to name a few). Engine and suspension parts have been media blasted and refinished to a better-than-factory appearance. The underside of the car is as clean as the top and finished in the same metallic red paint. Classics by Jaggers in Idaho is responsible for the two year build project, spanning from 2005-2007. The owner, Chris Jagger, is an award winning car builder from Boise, Idaho who specializes in paint finishes. He has built numerous show-winning cars and this Firebird is no exception, winning first-in-class at the Boise Roadster Show in 2007. There are extensive receipts documenting the complete transformation of this Firebird. Every part has been re-plated, re-finished, or replaced. It would make an excellent cruiser or could be shown with little to no preparation. It has ventured from a stock appearance with extra attention put on the drive train and suspension finishes but it has remained faithful to its Pontiac roots by the use of many NOS and factory parts. The original 400 V8 has been rebuilt/balanced and features a new high performance cam, Edelbrock intake manifold, and stainless steel exhaust. The Firebird runs and drives great with a smooth and precise gearbox. It feels tight and is well assembled. It would make an excellent addition to many different types of collections.
