Vehicle Detail

1959 Nash Metropolitan Convertible for restoration. This is a very solid original car. I hate to buy cars that have primer because it is hiding rust and dents. Not the case here. It was a very straight and solid original car when the body work was roughed in. I have taken pictures of the places these cars rust so you can see how solid it is. Has original floors. The only rust rot is about the size of a quarter in the passenger side front floor. The floors have scaling as can be seen in the photos. The rockers, pillars, door post, jacking points where these cars are famous for rust are all solid on this car. It has been sitting for a few years. It does run and the motor sounds very good (I will attach a video link before the end of the auction with it running). It will need the hydrolics restored before it is driven. Glass is all good. Car is complete. I have clear CA title on Current non operational status with the dmv, so no back fees due. I have a good working radio for it. I have a complete NEW interior, still in thew boxes for it. Door panels, kick panels, carpet, seat covers and brand new soft top all included. It also comes with a complete 1961 Hardtop parts car if you want it. This car too is complete and solid. It is in better condition than the pictures make it look, which is normally the opposite. It is a parts car as I do not have title for it. It was sold new in Oroville ca, about 50 miles from me. Take the best parts from both cars when you do your restoration. Please ask questions before bidding. I can assist in shipping, just ask. Uship.com is a good place to find reasonable shipping. I can hold for a reasonable amount of time since shipping this time of year due to holidays and weather can take longer. On Nov-27-10 at 10:58:05 PST, seller added the following information: Check back Sunday night or Monday and I will ad a link (when it stops raining and I can pull it out for photos) with many, many more detailed photos, and a video of it running. On Nov-29-10 at 22:33:50 PST, seller added the following information: I was able to pull the car out today and take more photos of it. Also ran it for a bit and took video. It fired right up (even with old points, wires etc..) I am running it off a secondary fuel tank. The gas is a couple years old and todays fuel do not hold up well so I did not want to risk the valves to old gas. It runs smooth and idled good, no smoke. It will need a battery as I borrowed one from another car. The water pump bearing made a little noise and then quieted down, but I would at least rebuild the water pump. I did not attempt to drive it as I have not had time to look into the brakes. Here is a link to 70 detailed photos- http://community.webshots.com/album/579216183iTtONy You May have to cut and paste to your browser window? On Nov-29-10 at 22:45:34 PST, seller added the following information: This is video of the car running today- http://rides.webshots.com/video/3098198230067287234zoOeFh And another- http://rides.webshots.com/video/3080541370067287234EyBuDo
