Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Selling 1968 Dodge Charger Hardtop VIN: XP29F8B269668 with clear title. We’ve had this car for 15 years. We don’t know what it went through before we got it, but someone had been using it for a daily driver and need something more reliable. I’ve done a lot to the car, but it has been in the garage on blocks for over 5 years. It was running good when parked but the starter had gone bad. It originally had a 318 automatic, but the 318 motor in it is not the original (it came from early to mid 70’s mopar) and someone had converted it to a 4 speed. I had taken the trans out to put in a clutch & pressure plate, but then decided to change it back to automatic, so I have both transmissions but neither has been put back in the car. It has 454 lift cam, limited slip rear end, 600 Holley 4-barrel carburetor and has been converted to Mallory electronic ignition. The body is sound and in fairly good shape but needs quarters. I have new skins for the quarters never used because I don’t weld and thought it would be better to replace whole quarters. The floor pans are good except for a cut in the front that was in it when we got the car. It looks like something may have punctured through from underneath. You can see it in one of the photos. The trunk pan is rusty and has 3 small holes rusted through (also shown in pics) that you should be able to repair easily without needing to replace it. I also have a 68 Charger parts car that will be included if you want it. The parts car has no title, no engine, no trans or rear end, and no hood. The small turn signal indicator lights that mount on the hood are missing from the orange car & since there is no hood on the parts car, it doesn’t have them either, but repros for these can be found. The seats from the parts car were already put in the main car, because it had wrong bucket seats when we bought it. The seats have been recovered in a diamond tucked style different from original horizontal pleats, but are correct frames and obviously need recovering again anyway. All glass is unbroken and intact in both cars. Upper door panels were missing from the orange car, so they were also taken from the parts car and put in the orange car. Fenders, grill, headlights, and other miscellaneous parts have been removed from the parts car and stored in the garage to prevent any further damage from weather. The blue car in the pictures is the parts car. There are no wheels on the garaged car in the pictures, but I have wheels to put on the car for transport. Transporting the cars will be totally the buyer’s responsibility. We are not interested in any trade. We really don’t want to sell the car, but do not have the time and resources to restore but one car at a time and I have decided to concentrate on restoring a very rare 76 Charger Sport that my wife wanted because it looks like one she had many years ago. Please call Timmie @ 919-280-7131 if you have any questions or need additional info. http://picasaweb.google.com/ppw7131/68Charger?feat=directlink
