Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1967 Scout 800 4x4 half cab truck. It is equipped with a 196 4-cylinder engine, 4 speed transmission, 2 speed transfer case and has a PTO with shaft. This truck was used in Northern PA as a brush truck years ago, by a fire company. Fire company name is still visible on door. The truck has a clean PA title, and mileage on title (29,546) matches the odometer and it probably original--but cannot guarantee. The floors in the vehicle were replaced by a previous owner and have surface rust, but seem to all be solid throughout the vehicle. The front inner and outer fenders, hood and doors are in very good condition for the age and type of vehicle, no rust through anywhere that I can see on these parts. The tailgate is in excellent condition, although it has a dent on the top and another dent on the bottom, but has no substantial rust. The roof is in average condition. It does have a number of holes where lights, etc. are mounted. The quarter panels on the vehicle should be replaced as well as the end caps. They are rusted and dented up. The rest of the vehicle is in fairly good shape, body wise. An extra pair of quarter panels and end caps will come with the vehicle--they are not rust free, but are very much better than what is currently on the vehicle, and in my opinion, are repairable. The white tool box shown in the pictures fits in the bed of the Scout very nice. It does have a few areas where it is rusted through, but it could be repaired. The tool box goes with the truck if the buyer wants it. The vehicle does roll. I will try to get the engine running, but cannot guarantee I will get to it. I do not know the mechanical condition of the vehicle. The chassis looks to be in good condition overall, including frame. I would consider this truck to be an excellent candidate to repair or restore. I would assume that the vehicle will need brake and fuel system repairs or replacement, as well as tune-up. Tires are okay for off-road use--but they may not pass inspection. Scout is being sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS. Buyer is responsible for pick-up of vehicle within 2 weeks from end of auction. Down payment of $200 is due within 48 hours of end of auction. Vehicle will need to be trailered. On Nov-10-10 at 07:41:37 PST, seller added the following information: Just for clarification, there are four sticks in the truck: one for manual transmission, 2 sticks for transfer case, and one for PTO = 4 total. The doors are solid on the bottoms, however the driver's door does have some surface rust, but not rusted through. There is a donor driver's door that is included for replacement of driver's door glass. I just noticed some damage on the windshield (additional photo) that appears to be BB marks. There are three marks on the windshield. Thanks for looking.
