Vehicle Detail
1979 Ford F250 Plow Truck. I am selling this truck to buy a newer unit. It has a been a good truck over the last two seasons. I bought it as a back up truck. The truck starts, runs, and will go down the road. Four wheel drive works great. 4 speed Manual Transmission (Granny Gear is very low). This truck has the 6 cylinder motor. Never had a problem pushing snow with it. Three of the tires are 80% or better and one tire is 50%. Plow works as it should up, down, and all directions. There is no front bumper, just the plow assembly. The hitch shown on the rear of the vehicle will not be there. It goes with a salt spreader that is not being sold. The truck has some rust. The floor pans have a couple small holes, but the truck is solid. Not rusted through in any other areas. Paint is good. Obvious scratches and dings on the body and a couple dents in the tailgate. This truck is in great shape for thirty years old. It is geared rather low, but you can start it and drive it anywhere. No significant leaks that I am aware of. The plow bracket broke the beginning of last year and went through the radiator. The truck got hot. We put new head gasket and radiator on and ran it the rest of the season with no trouble. The fuel tank is in the tool box in the back of the truck. The fuel gauge and oil pressure gauge in dash do not work. There is an aftermarket oil pressure gauge that works fine. Clutch is strong. Manual locking hubs. The odometer reads 21000+, but I am sure it is 121000 or even 221000. I don't know. The doors have been replaced. I only say this because they are a different color. There is an aftermarket radio that works fine. There is a brand new battery. You can turn the key and go. She is a little cold natured, but once she warms up she runs strong. Heat will make you want to get out of the cab. There is a small chip in windshield. Don't see it causing any real trouble for a while being that it is not all that way through the glass, but needs to be mentioned. Frame underneath has surface rust, but nothing major. Truck has been very reliable, but need something newer and bigger to service larger accounts. I will answer any and all questions to the best of my ability. This truck sits between seasons. We have pulled it out started it and tested the snow plow. All things are working to the best of my knowledge. This is a thirty year old work truck and should be looked at as such. This is the kind of truck that is great for someone with basic mechanical skills. She can always use a little something. Typically nothing major, but could get expensive if you have to run it to a shop for every little thing.
