Vehicle Detail

This is a 1963 Fiat 600D with suicide doors. It has been completely taken apart and restored but not to original condition. It has a completely rebuilt 767cc engine with new pistons, rings, bearings, timing gears and chain, etc. I'm sure it has less than 300 miles on it now. I added a stainless overflow tank for the radiator. I also replaced the old generator with a small chrome racing alternator. Carb has been rebuilt and it has a K&N air filter. It could use a new valve cover gasket. The one on it leaks some oil down the side of the engine, but would be an easy fix. The transmission has not been rebuilt, and first gear makes some noise, but it all works just fine. The car has new floor pans welded in and the whole body was carefully sandblasted. Once primed, I rolled on a truck bed coating to the whole underbody, fender wells, spare tire well, inside doors, and inside floorboard. It should be completely sealed and waterproof forever. I replaced all the switches and dash lights with new modern switches and LEDs, and replaced the keyed ignition with a magnetic switch. Now, you put the magnet (copper thing with cord stuck to dash in pics) in a certain location and the ignition comes on. Then you start the car with the start button located in the new shift handle I made on my lathe. (anti theft??) no key necessary to start the car, but who would figure it out unless they knew. Can easily be changed back to key start if desired. I do have the door lock key and alarm key fob. I mounted an old coin in the shifter because it looked cool. The shift boot, e-brake handle boot, knee bolster, and door panels are all covered in leather. The car has 14 kenwood speakers and 5 kenwood amps (two are 4 channel). There are half tanks welded into the floor under the rear seat which hold two 8" subs. I took the faceplate of a Kenwood receiver (with remote) and milled out a block of aluminum to put it in. The receiver is mounted under the dash out of sight and it plays MP3s so I burn a disk with 170 or so songs, put it in and never have to change it. There is a 6 disc Kenwood CD changer under the passengers seat. I installed a row of bright LEDs in the milled out radio faceplate and wired them in as dome lights and also added a dome light switch to the passenger side door as the car only comes with one switch. Now the dome light will come on when either door is opened. The rear view mirror is a small camera on the back glass going to a small lcd monitor above the stereo faceplate along with a very small mirror on the windshield that I made. It has RCA jacks to plug in a game console or whatever. I replaced the hand crank windows with electric ones that work pretty nice. The visors have lighted mirrors in them. All gauges work like new. The steering wheel is a Billet Specialties with a custom adaptor ($350 steering wheel!) The wheels are 13" American racing and the tires are new. I put two billet motorcycle mirrors on the car. They look great. While driving, the passenger side mirror cant be seen, but I thought it looked better with two mirrors than only one. The car has an Ungo alarm and can turn on the headlights or small strobe lights mounted in the headlights remotely. I installed switches on the trunk and engine cover lid to activate the alarm when opened since you cant lock the engine compartment, but I cant remember if I wired them up or not (getting old ???) The brakes and brake lines are all new as are the kingpins. I modified the stock emergency brake handle making it stainless so I could polish it. All the weatherstripping is new in the car...around windows and doors. The headliner is actual soft headliner material not vinyl. New battery, brakes, and spare tire. The only thing the car needs is to have the seats covered and maybe a new bearing in first gear. I am using towels over them because there is not a good leather upholsterer anywhere around here. Also, I have yet to have the front end aligned and it may need that. The bumpers and headlight rings are new. I used polished stainless steel bolts throughout the car. I polished the aluminum handles, badges, and front whiskers before installing them. The trunk was painted then covered in felt trunk liner material as well as the gas tank. I also made a spare tire cover. The muffler is new and I welded on a stainless tip. All lights work...(everything worked when I parked it). Tail and turn lenses are new but I don't have the reflectors that go on the tail lights. I added a third brake light from a Honda Del Sol. The headlights are the cool new ones with replaceable bulbs not old sealed beams. The wing window seals need replaced, but when I was restoring this car, I could not find replacements or reproductions anywhere. I think they may be available on the net somewhere. They will work as is, just don't look too pretty. I am sure I have left out lots of stuff so email me with any questions. I have a lot of time and money in this car, but it just sits in the garage so I am going to get rid of it and start a new project. The reserve price is well below what I have spent on the car not including the labor I have in it. Keep in mind, this is an old car and is sold as is, where is, without any guarantees of any kind. The passenger side back window tint has bubbled while sitting and I scratched the pass door glass tint while putting in the electric windows...they need re-tinted. Somewhere around here I have a crate of old parts from this car...window crank handles, generator, old switches, e-brake handle, and such if someone wanted to return it to original.....just about any part on this car that is not original, I have the original in the crate...if it was on the car when I got it!! I will throw that stuff in also if I can find it. I believe I know where the crate of parts is...it is included with this car... I also have another transmission and a parts car 'body' for this car and I think an extra hood and door (maybe) at another location... maybe a wheel or two...I cant really remember all the parts I have. Buyer can pick and choose the spare parts he wants! I get a lot of questions about the car not being 'original'. Putting it back to original would be mostly taking stuff out I have added...pretty simple if that's how you would like it. Paint color is not original, and would be harder to change ;) Like I said earlier, if the seats were upholstered, the car would be complete....Just needs to be driven...it just sits in the garage. I also have shop manuals and parts manuals for this car that are included Email with any questions
