Vehicle Detail
If you're seriously interested in this car, please call me. Let's make a deal. Derek (508) 583-4185 1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340 (JS vin = Special): This is an original 340 / 4-spd car. Rare. Some say as many as 5864 were built, but Galen Govier says 1267 Challengers were built in 1972 with 340 engines and 357 were built with manual transmissions like this car. See link on build numbers: http://www.carsurvey.org/reviews/dodge/challenger/r76155/comments/page-2/ Fender Tag: N85 R11 V6X EN2 J54 M21 M42 N23 N41 N42 V1X U B51 C16 C56 J25 EV2 B6X9 000 204 329872 E55 D21 JS23 H2B 30xxxx Don't let the color scare you. PEOPLE GO NUTS FOR THIS CAR. Popular modern custom look with an emphasis on high performance. Stored in shelter. Ground-up professional restoration. Painted in the famous Chrysler performance color "Moulin Rouge" a.k.a. "Panther Pink" (paint code M3) Wetsanded & buffed BASF/R-M Diamont 2-stage Base/Clear Urethane. With an all polygraphite bushing front end, this car handles like it's on rails. Body is beautiful and straight as you can see, but not immaculate. However, this car is still show worthy. Trunk and floors are solid. Undercarriage is solid and reasonably clean (epoxy primed and undercoated) VERY FAST. Runs mid 12's on 1/4 mile. I’ve invested approximately 38K into this car and I have most receipts. After speaking with many active gearheads, the consensus is that this car would cost 50K to build today. I had to estimate 20,000 miles for the mileage figure because there was a little while when I was driving car before I found a speedometer that worked properly. I over-estimated this figure to be safe. New model Challengers with 6 cylinder engines cost this much and will never be worth anything, nor provide the enjoyment that this car does. It took 12 years to finish this baby but I must sell it for financial reasons. Top dollar for a matching numbers 1972 Rallye Challenger is $36,000. (for official value, see "Official Value Details" link below) This is not a matching numbers car so price reflects.
