1979 MGB Convertible- Vermillion Red original color- Running condition- 4 Speed- This car is being sold to be restored.The mileage on the speedometer is 53937 but I don't think it is true and probably is a replacement speedometer that was swapped out some time ago, It runs but floods out. I will list both the goods and what it needs. Goods- This car is cancer free- hard to believe but it is. Floor boards are solid, rocker panels solid, doors solid, fenders solid, mechanically- Has a new o.e.m. fuel pump, lumention ignition, new battery, tires have life in them still, carb has been rebuilt but the car is running rich and hard to start after running- I simply don't have time to work on it or tune it. The engine(over 55 psi oil pressure) is original and has all of the original emmisions but smokes a little which makes me think it has a leaking valve seal, cooling system works as it should, the transmission shifts in all four gears forward with no synchronizer problems, reverse works fine, brakes work fine, and finally the most unbelievable part, all the electrics work including signals, lights and even the clock. What it needs- interior- ie: carpet,seat covers, dash cover, convertible top(no tears in it but the back window seam came apart and probably could be resewn on the car cheaply with a stitcher., the car need paint- their are numerous door dings, and both the hood and the trunk have dings that need fixing, the back drivers body part under the bumper is dented and has some surface rust but again no cancer.The trunk has a a few surface rust spots but no cancer. Has wire wheels need repainting and the original wrench and hammer for the wheels, the manuals are included. Includes an excellent top boot and tonneau cover. I don't have a place any longer to work on it so it is being sold. Great winter project! Please only bid if you are going to buy it, also I would plan on having it transported back home via carrier service.
