Vehicle Detail
Pictured for sale is a 1985 Honda V-65 Sabre. In the early 80's, Honda started development of their V four series of motors including the V 30, the V40's, V 45's, and the monster V -65s. They replaced the dependable and stalwart inline 4 series of engine in the CB model bikes. This engine brought Honda into new territory both in racing and on the street as it not only changed the status quo but flipped it on it's head. The V 4's had water cooling, and shaft drive (other than the Interceptor which was chain driven). In the V-65 model Honda had a torque monster and some called it Honda's answer to Yamahas V Max series of motorcycles. Coming in two models the Magna and the Sabre, Honda offered the crusier community The Magna and the street / touring / standard community the Sabre. The Sabre was a dependable, nimble , workhorse for everyday riding, sporting about and even touring. This particular bike is in very nice shape with low miles considering it's 25 years old....actually 26 years old. It has only 8075 miles on it. The motor is strong. She handles well, and all system function. Oil was just changed (Bel Ray semi synth) as well as plugs (NGK) . The tires are relatively new ChenG Shin Hi Max series (which are respectable medium priced tires). This bike has sat much more than it should have and way more than it has been ridden. Although this bike is in good shape and cared for, it has a few bumps and biffs you would expect in 26 years of life. Nothing terrible but I just want you to know it's not pristine. The pictures were taken on a rather gray day and I apologize for their quality. But they do show the bikes essence. As you can see this bike has nice curb appeal. The V 65's are strong motors and this bike should be considered by someone with motorcycle experience. Please e mail me with any questions I will be happy to answer. This bike is for sale locally as well.
