This truck was my daily driver for several years. I have owned it since 2002. It was my daily driver until gas prices went to $4.00 per gallon a few years ago and I bought a car. I picked up some other hobbies and never finished the project. I hate to sell the truck because I haven't seen any others like it.. With some work it would make a great show truck which was my original intention. The body needs some rust repair over the rear wheels but no major parts need replacement as most '79s. For a 1979 this truck is in good shape to start a rebuild. Fully restored it will be awesome! It needs some work done to the steering column if you want the tilt wheel to work. It needs a radiator shroud to run cool. I had an aluminum radiator with electric fans in it but removed them and put the stock radiator back in with the stock fan. It needs interior door panels and carpeting replaced. I recovered the seat but the sun has bleached it out. Mileage is the odometer reading. I expect being a 1979 the odometer has rolled over. When I rebuilt the engine I bought the best parts I could get. The engine is bored .60. It had been bored .30 when I got it and the machine shop told me to put chrome rings in it I should bore it .30 more to make sure the cylinders are true or the hard rings will use oil. It didn't burn oil after I rebuilt it. Here is a list of the parts I put on the truck. I was building this truck to last and I don't like doing work over so I bought premium parts when available on everything I purchased. It had a lot more power and torque after I rebuilt it with the flat top pistons, RV cam, Weiand Intake and 600 Holley 4bbl carb and high voltage coil. Rebuilt High Torq 400 cu.in. $1200 worth of parts in engine Balanced & Bored .60 Crank was turned High Compression Flat Top Pistons Chrome Moly Rings, Hasting Rod & Main Bearings RV cam, Weiand High Rise Aluminum intake manifold, Holley 600 cfm carb, K&N High Performance Chrome Air Filter, Chrome High Voltage Coil 50,000 volt Plug Wires in Good Shape Melling High Volume Oil Pump carries 50-80 lbs oil pressure depending on daily temp 33 Inch All Terrain Tires lot of rubber left Nice Custom Wheels, Ford Factory Hi Boy Lift Mile Marker Hubs Straight body minimal rust. Dent in passenger side bed, some rust over rear wheels Sliding Rear Cargo Window Chrome Drop Hitch Bumper Rebuilt entire brake system New rubber seals around doors Magna Flow Dual Exhaust - Sounds great like a big block should! Dual Fuel Tanks (needs switch over control for rear tank) The AC needs a condenser, flushed and charged. Pump is there This truck fully restored will be awesome!
