Vehicle Detail

This is a good condition 1976 300D. The w115 body is known to have rust issues. This car has no rust other than some minor surface rust in the floor of the trunk. The problem areas such as the floor pans and fenders have zero rust. The body is in excellent condition with good original paint. All the glass is intact and all of the electrical components work. The car has power windows but no sunroof. The vacume controlled door locks do not work and the A/C needs charged. The tires are in excellent condition as are the matching MB hubcaps. The car has an aftermarket cruise control which does not seem to function. The interior is in great condition with the exception of the front seats needing to be re-stuffed (a common problem in older MBs). There are no rips or tears in the upholstery (vinyl, not leather), the headliner and carpet are in great condition, and there is one SMALL crack in the dash. The motor has new glow plugs, an aftermarket push button controller, and a new alternator. It starts easily and runs strong, however it has an intermittent miss for a couple of minutes when started cold. The smoke that is produced during the "miss" is fuel and not oil which leads me to believe that it may need some injector work. It clears up within a couple of minutes and only happens on cold start up. Before the glow plug controller issue was addressed, it would start cold with no glow cycle (and NO starting fluid- which is horrible for diesels)- which is an indication of good compression. The transmission shifts smoothly and it drives down the road as it should. The Odo. reads 38,xxx (5-digit), so I don't know the actual mileage. The previous owner told me it was still in the 100,000 mile rollover- and with the condition of the car the way it is, I believe it- but I can't verify it. I have some misc. parts that come with the car- a starter, a set of new valve adjusting wrenches ($100 new), a factory rear window seal, misc filters, and two factory MB service manuals. This is a clean example of a W115 300D that should bring a smile to the new owner's face. I hate to sell it, but I need more of a long distance commuter / beater than a classic MB. please email with any questions.
