1974 Honda XL250

This 74 XL250 K1 is the second year Honda made the 250 Motorsport. I am the second owner (I picked it up in 03), and the bike spent all of it's life in Michigan as a summer day commuter around a small town. I have ridden it about 100 miles a year (about 10 miles a ride), and stored it indoors during the bad climate months. Great conversation piece. It has 4935 miles. My wife and I decided not to deal with rolling it inside this year, so I hope a new owner can get it that will continue to enjoy this old school "enduro". This XL has never been off road. I ride dirt bikes, and this is one that would not be fun on the trails in my opinion. It starts and runs fine, but is a bit more stubborn on the very cold days (requires some extra kicks). It does not smoke. Tranny and clutch are great. I replaced the battery last spring. The blinkers blink, but are slow. Speedometer and odometer work well, but resettable trip odometer does not reset. Everything else works fine. The bike has some very minor grime here and there (around sprockets, lower frame, exhaust, etc). As far as corrosion, there is some very minor external pitting here and there (bars, luggage rack, a few external tank spots). It is barely noticable after I wax and polish it each year. No rust on forks. This bike is 36 years old, and is not showroom new. You'd be hard pressed, however, to find many this well taken care of though. It could be completely restored to show condition (pain), or just taken care of and ridden proudly as-is for many more years. Included is clear title and the owners manual. I'd prefer pick up in Alpena, MI, and will not crate. I may be able to meet up someplace in Michigan for my gas money if you are flexible on dates.
