Among the RS4's key ingredients: A normally aspirated, 8250-rpm, 420-hp V-8 that shares only water and steering pumps with the S4's V-8. One horsepower for every 9.4 pounds. Ninety percent of maximum torque available from 2250 to 7600 rpm. A six-speed manual as the sole transmission. A far stiffer suspension than the S4's, and a lap time around the old Nurburgring in 7:49, in comparison, the Lamborghini Gallardo lapped in 7:52! In an age when most machines have been muted and muffled and beaten into legislated docility, the RS4's V-8 sounds, if not perfect, then at least very, very real. Standard Quattro practice usually favors a 50/50 front/rear torque split, but here, a 40/60 split is meant to grant the Audi more Mercedes- and BMW-fighting ammunition. 60 mph comes up in 4.3 seconds--and yet, it never delivers that insane, punchy rush of fast Audis past. This vehicle has been adult owned, never smoked in and only maintained by Audi Service (documentation provided). Everything is factory except the legal dark window tint, JHM lightweight front brake rotors and a K&N air intake filter. Comes with proffesionaly installed Low-Jack (w/ documentation) and is transferable to the new owner. All of this power and controllability, but can still fit 5 adults, or for the family, 2 large child seats and a booster in the middle of the back seat! A power rear sun shade is perfect for the hot days and the manual hideaway rear door shades will keep the summer sun out of the kids eyes as well.
