Vehicle Detail

This listing is for a 2005 Honda ST1300A (A stands for ABS). This is a mile-eating sport-touring machine. The 1300cc V-4 engine is liquid cooled with fuel injection. The shaft drive does not require the maintenance or adjustment (or the mess) of a chain. The linked anti-lock brakes allow you to not have to know in advance the exact coefficient of friction of the pavement ahead of you when some BDC in a Hummer decides to turn left immediately in front of you (yes, I have the scars to prove it, from my previous bike which did not have advanced braking capabilities). The integrated, removable saddlebags will keep your clothes dry and secure. The leather Corbin saddle will coddle your back side while you rack up the miles. It feels stiff at first, but after a couple tanks of gas, being able to still feel your back side is quite valuable. The electrically adjustable windshield allows you to adjust on the fly for heat, cold, and rain. The HID headlight conversion and halogen driving lights will allow you to see the deer at night before they see you, and will make you quite conspicuous during the day. They will not, however, allow you to see around corners. The OEM style Bridgestone tires are about half worn with 6,000 miles on them. With 58,000 miles of experience, this bike drives like new. The shocks might be starting to get a bit mushy, but I'm not good enough to tell. It still handles better than my previous bikes, which all had fewer miles on them. The dash shelf will hold your GPS, radar detector, and garage door opener. Sorry, but I am not including mine. Why am I selling it? To be truthful, I don't deserve to have a bike this capable any more. I used to make numerous cross-country trips, and this is exactly the tool for that job (Google "muddy butt concours" for one example, if you have a few minutes to read). Unfortunately, life changes have made trips like this a rare occasion, and this bike gets ridden mostly just back and forth to work. This bike deserves better; can you give it the miles it needs? Of course, I am quite willing to keep riding it, and providing garage space for it, until someone better comes along.
