Vehicle Detail

Hello. This is a really cool 1946 Chrysler New Yorker. I bought several cars to restore a few years back, and just have had no time to finish some of them, so I felt it best to let her go to someone who will have time for her and appreciate her. Car is in pretty good overall shape, it was a show car at some point and somebody custom built a unique front grill area and gave the car a flame paint job. Car is a reall headturner with it's cool bodystyle and suicide opening doors, looks like something out of a Dick Tracy or Batman movie, or a gangster car. Would also make a great Hot Rod or the beginnings of an awesome Rat Rod ! Currently I have the interior out of it as I was repairing the floor (it had a couple of small rust area and I was welding in new metal), but I do have the complete interior - including the original plaid and leather covered front and rear seats, the original door panels, all glass including the front door window glass (both sides as they came off with the door panels), and all the really neat and hard to find original door handles and window cranks, etc. Steering wheel and dash are in awesome shape. Other than the floor, there is very little rust anywhere, and I can only find a couple of small areas that will need minor body work. Car is solid. Motor is the original straight 8 with 3 speed on the column transmission. It ran when I got it and I did have it running about 8 months ago (started right up !). All wiring is there and intact. Car is still a 6 volt positive ground vehicle with a generator. Engine compartment could use a serious detailing to spruce it up. Even the old horns still work. So you are basically taking over my project, which will not need all that much really - considering the age of vehicle. It will need the interior redone at some point, as it is 55 years old and the drivers area seat cloth is begining to tear. The door panels are shabby and will need recovering soon as well. You can however put in new carpet and reassemble the interior and wait a while to restore it, if you wanted to. The floor repairs do need to be finished (minor job), but after that everything can go back in. Now, I am selling the car AS IS not currrently running. I do have a really good old school mechanic who can get her running for you if you choose, before you pick it up, but that is up to you and not included in the sale. Should not cost more than $300-$400 for labor - total to get it up and running again (it will for example need a new 6 volt battery). Car is actually in decent overall shape if you know old cars - just needs some TLC and you can be running her down the road in no time with very little cost, especially compared to buying one that is already done - which will cost many thousands more that what I am asking. I have over $5,000 into this car, but as she needs to go, I will start the auction at a fraction of that: $500 with NO Reserve and let the market decide her value today. I have also put an incredible Buy It Now price on the car that you would be foolish to not snap this car up at that price! Remember that the Buy It Now option dissappears after the very first bid. Using the buy it now will giarantee the car is yours with no bidding, waiting, or finger biting in the last seconds before the auction ends. Realistically this car should go for at least $4500 minimum. My loss will be your gain and you will own a really cool and collectible car for peanuts. Pick up or shipping: I would prefer that you pick the vehicle up, it is located in Hollywood Florida zip 33023. I can and will help with the shipping procedure, as I can deliver it to a shipper for you within 25 miles of my zip. Shipping these days on a non-running car is about $1000 almost anywhere wihin the US - less if you use a broker. It is also less if the car is running so it can be loaded and unloaded easier by the shipper. So please research that before you buy as I want no problems or surprises with this sale. Winning bidder must submit a $500 deposit via Paypal or bank transfer/deposit within 48 hours of end of auction and must be able to pay off balance and pick up car no later than 7 days after end of auction. Balance must be in cash on pick-up or postal money order please. I hope I have covered everything, but please feel free to email or call if you have any questions : Fernando 786-499-9789 . I do have this car for sale locally and reserve the right to end this auction at any time before it ends - if it gets sold.I will consider a BUY IT NOW offer if it is fair and you can pay and pick it up right away. I also will be selling a complete1949 Oldsmobile with a Rocket 88 engine, and a 1947 Chevrolet 2-door project. You may make an offer on those as well if interested. I will list them later this week. Note: I will be adding more pics tomorrow night of the interior parts, door panels, seats, etc... I have been an honest Ebay seller for over 10 years (check my feedback) so bid with confidance. Thank you for looking at my auctions.
