Vehicle Detail

Ebay ad for Mark’s 69 Camaro If you’re looking for a beautiful and real 69 Z28, with a DZ302 THAT YOU CAN DRIVE. This is your car. I bought this car 2 ½ years ago because I wanted to experience owning and driving the car of my childhood dreams. It is gorgeous and restored to show specs, but the 302 came from a different 69 Z28 . Because of this its not a $90K car but the motor is numbers matching carb to pan. I soon found out it had not been restored mechanically sound so the big ticket restoration jobs began for me. First it needed a clutch and 4 new gears for the Muncie M21 close ratio. Then it needed a complete valve job, and yes hardened seats were applied (the DZ302's have 11:1 compression from the factory!) I had the Holley taken apart, cleaned and rebuilt by Braswell carburetion in Tucson, Arizona. Then the voltage regulator left me stranded on I-80, so I bought a 1 wire alternator and installed it. Since then I replaced the starter with a new gear reduction one from Jegs, as the headers were constantly overheating the old large style one. (still have it and rebuilt it for show points) Now it starts quickly everytime. I then replaced the front shocks with QA1 adjustables (second best move next to radial tires), installed new oem rear leaf springs, added rear air shocks and it actually corners great. I have all 4 of the 15” rally wheels with new bias ply rubber for those of you who are going for max show points. In fact the only other modifications from factory stock are the headers with 2 ½ “ dual exhaust, the 1 wire alternator, Jegs starter, and the 17” Boyd Coddington Crown Jewels its riding on. I doubt there are many other X77 cars out there that are this mechanically solid. Heater core had been epoxied shut, I live in Nebraska, it now has a new core, you can drive it on cold nights. I now want a 69 camaro restomod so must sell this one. Email any questions or if you need a photo of something I missed. The car is for sale locally here in Omaha as well. Full list of Parts: DZ302 solid lifter cam original specs Heads completely rebuilt Feb 08 New timing chain New correct Harmonic balancer New clutch Muncie M21 fully rebuilt shifts like new Points eliminator kit in original distributor for reliability and much less maintainance. New plug wires New Jegs gear reduction starter (awesome start) New thermostat and it runs nice and cool Holley 4 barrel taken apart cleaned and rebuilt to specs by Braswell Carburetion New front coils with Qa1 adjustable front shocks New rear leaf springs with air shocks in rear 2 ½ “ full dual exhaust installed 09 with flomasters Paint is correct Garnet Red per cowl tag and was done very well with base and clear coats. It has a few small chips here and there which have been touched up with correct paint but I’ve waxed it regularly and always garaged not driven in bad weather. Wipers do work though. New door hinge pins. No sag, close perfectly Interior removed so Dynomat sound dampening could be installed front to back and floor pans and trunk floor are rust free replaced with new metal by previous owner. Trunk had very professional paint done and new correct trunk mat. Welds were ground very nicely. Correct spare tire, jack and tire iron. Comes with Boyd Coddington Crown Jewell 17” rims with BFGoodrich 225/50 ZR17’s on all 4, plus the 4 15” Rally wheels with new center caps and new Wide Oval Goodyear E70-15 bias ply’s for the car show. (It’s fun to experience these tires cause its how it was in 69 but wow they’re squirly. Most driving you’ll want the BFG’s on) Added bonus, Car came with a very detailed 3 ring notebook depicting the cars history, previous owners, where and by whom it was restored, plus some cool old magazine articles about the 69 Z28 from back in the day, I have a reprint of the GM marketing ad from 69 as well. For the car shows, previous owner made a poster size sign with reprint of a bill of sale and window sticker with this cars options correctly which is yours as well. See photo Stereo: I’ve installed a mp3 ready Pioneer am/fm/cd player hidden in glove compartment with 350watt kenwood amp in trunk under mat. And two Alpine 6.9’s in rear for that classic sound. Original am radio still in place but disconnected.
