Vehicle Detail
Here for sale is a 1969 CB450 Honda 2 cylinder street bike.NO RESERVE! Since these bikes were rather common, finding parts, both new and used, should not be a problem. Bike is mostly original. BRAND NEW old stock, period correct gas tank was purchased for it last year.Tank is FLAWLESS! No side emblems or fuel petcock are available, but should be relatively easy to obtain. Painting the side covers to match the tank should not be difficult. Chrome finish on original shocks is in very nice condition. Speedo and tach look very nice too. Bike rolls nicely and with little effort. Both wheels spin straight and true with strong spokes. Bike currently does not run but engine turns over well and based on kick start effort, compression feels strong. Brakes work and clutch lever works as it should. Original seat in good overall condition with word "HONDA" still easilly read. Factory rubber air intakes for carbs and manifolds are still flexible. No leakage discovered at either front fork. All turn signal and tail light lenses are in good, non-cracked condition. As seen in the pictures, some cooling fins from the left side of the engine head were broken off. Also, it appears that perhaps a drive chain let go which caused damage to the area surrounding the front sprocket. An aluminum welding process was used to repair the area where the clutch cable enters the sprocket cover. Clutch lever and cable are secure and appear to work correctly after the repair. Due to the battery venting, the right muffler shows evidence of the chrome being dis-colored, as seen in the picture. Left muffler has decent chrome but has a couple small dents as seen in the one photo. Neither muffler shows signs of rot. This bike would make a good candidate for either a nice Sunday rider or a spare to be used for parts. Comes with a new ignition key, a clear, no leins signed title, an owner's manual (for a similar CL 450), an entire Honda parts listing manual, even a popular motorcycle magazine test article on a similar 1968 model.Cool stuff! The bike can be seen only upon a confirmed meeting time before you bid. This bike is for sale only, no trades. Bike sold as is with NO warranty expressed or implied. Payment by personal check or cash in person. Payment must be in my possession no later than 7 days after auction end. Payment must be confirmed by the owner's bank before release of bike. I can provide open trailer transportation of the bike for $1.00 per mile one way ( plus any tolls) up to 200 miles in one direction. Long distance buyers, especially those in other countries, must make their own arrangements for transportation. Please email seller with any questions. Thanks for looking.
