Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a super clean, super fast 1988 Pontiac Fiero Gt T-top with a Desighn One turbocharger system installed. This car has always been garage kept and only driven on warm sunny days. No winter salt and ice for this Fiero, so no worrys about rust. This car runs and drives great and with the extra power from the turbo it is also very fast. The boost from the turbocharger is exactly what the Fiero Gt needs to make it go as fast as it looks. When I say that this car is clean I don't mean daily driver clean, I mean show car clean. I have went over every inch of this car cleaning and detailing to bring it up to show car standards. The engine & tranny were recently removed to install the turbo and I went nuts detailing the engine bay and cradle at that time. The cradle and suspension were all sandblasted and repainted so they are as clean as the day this car drove off the production line. Several years ago I removed the engine to replace all the gaskets. At that time I sandblasted and repainted all brackets and front cover and intake manifold before installing back onto the car with the new gaskets. So the engine is so clean it looks like brand new. just take a look at the pictures. The interior of this car is show car clean and with the exception of a minor rub mark on the driver side leather seat it is nearly flawless. The vinyl around the shifter and radio pods are all tight and straight as they were when this car was brand new. The steering wheel is perfect with no sign of wear or loose leather like on most Fieros out there today. The carpet is perfect with no sunfade or wear at all as they have always been covered with floor mats. The headliner and sunvisors are brand new from The Fiero Store. I used the Fiero store fiberglass headliner which I modified for the T-tops then I covered with OEM dark gray fabric. The leather seats are in great shape and have always been properly maintaned with leather conditioner so they are as soft and supple as when they were new. There is only one minor rub mark on the driver side seat bolster in the usual location. I think this could easily be died back the the original color by a professional upholstery shop. The exterior is also very nice but not perfect. The paint shines like new but it has some bug and stone marks on the front and some spiderweb cracks around the passenger side rear reflector. It is nothing serious but is detectable upon close inspection. The T-top seals are in great shape and are regularly treated with silicone spray to preserve them. The P-seals are new and look great. The t-tops do not leak under normal conditions but will leak a little when going through a high pressure car wash as any t-top will do. The tires are also in great shape with 75% tread left and I will also include an extra set of Goodyear Eagle GT's with less than 500 miles on them if you want them. The aluminum wheels are very nice and are undamaged without the usual curb scrapes. The undercarriage is very clean with only little surface rust on gas tank straps. According to the t-top registry, this Fiero is number 738 out of 1252 to have factory authorized t-tops installed in 1988. If you have never driven a Fiero with t-tops you have not lived! I love driving this car on warm sunny days with the t-tops out. List of new parts includes: KYB shocks and struts, EGR valve, new Borg Warner clutch, new hydrolic motor mount and transmission mounts, new slave cylinder, headliner and sunvisors, P-seals & driprails for t-top, crossdrilled and slotted brake rotors on all 4, Fiero Store 1" lowering springs, Fuel filter, K&N filtercharger, battery, AC compressor and dryer when AC was properly flushed and converted to R134A, headlight motors in 2004, all radiator hoses & caps, Rodney Dickman alternator idler pulley upgrade, Rodney Dickman stainless steel vaccuum lines, Holley adjustable fuel pressure regulator, new firewall side exhaust manifold, Jet-Hot coated exhaust manifolds (ported), Crystal Clear headlight conversion, probably alot more I just can't think of everything. The Design One turbo system is a high quality system that has been designed after the Miller-Woods turbo systems that were available back in the late 80's. This is not some crappy home built system. It is a time tested system that has been proven to be top quality and very reliable. To this day Design One still sells these systems and parts to support it and has a website at design1systems.com where you can check out all the specifications on this turbo system. I also have the stage 2 upgrade that I will include with the Fiero however it is still in the box and has not been installed. This turbo supplies smooth efficient power that makes passing a breeze and does not add hundreds of pounds of extra weight like most engine swaps do. It comes with a custom exhaust system that sounds great though it is slightly louder than stock but is not bad at all. I would compare the sound to a high performance Borla exhaust system. The entire engine bay has been detailed and is so clean you could eat off of it, although I woudn't do that beacuse you would get it dirty! It also comes with a LeBra front end cover not shown in the pictures. I have the t-top bags and all the documentation that came with the car when new. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions or if I have left something out. This is one of the finest Fieros out there, cleaner than most of the show cars I have seen at Fiero car shows so don't let it slip away. I must be crazy to sell this car after putting all this work and money into it. I don't even want to think about what I have invested in this car. Bid to win because you will not see one like this ever again!
