1998 BMW 740IL - well maintained, with 142,490 miles (2/3rd Hwy, 1/3rd city). 4.4L V8 engine, Long wheel-base E38 body style. Arctic Silver Metallic exterior, light grey leather interior with faux wood grain trim. Looks, runs and handles like a swift, precision silver cloud. Second owner, purchased as Certified Pre-Owned w/ 32K miles. A/C blows cold. Two remote keys, valet key. Non-smoking owners. The car spent the last 7 winters in sunny South Florida (no salt on the highways! ( :->) ). I’ve included pictures taken on both sunny and rainy days to provide you some contrasting perspective of the car’s exterior. CarFax (below). If you are not local, there are several firms on the internet that will do an independent vehicle inspection for you. I have purchased two cars and a motorcycle on eBay Motors and have used these inspection services with good results. Summary of Maintenance: New within last 3000 miles: windshield; water pump, thermostat, BMW "blue" coolant; engine belts; power steering hoses, reservoir & filter, P/S fluid; synthetic 15W40 oil change & oil filter, brake fluid flush & fill, wiper blade inserts. Tint windows (legal) for South Florida living, Cabin micro filters, A/C recirculation micro filters, engine air filter. Brake pads and rotors in good condition. Recent History: Engine oil changed @ one-half BMW recommended interval, brake fluid and coolant changed at recommended intervals. Catalytic converters replaced @ 120K and 110K miles, New plugs, Thrust rod bushings, & front Boge Struts replaced @ 110K; Front O2 sensors @ 105K miles; "Lifetime" transmission fluid & filter, rear differential fluid changed @ 88K miles. Exterior glazed, sealed / waxed 3-4 times a year, washed frequently. Interior leather and vinyl conditioned 2-3 times a year with Lexol products. Official MPG 24 Highway 17 City. Experience confirms.
