Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1965 Mustang Convertible in need of restoration. It was built on August 28th 1964 so it has some very early features like the 64.5 turn down hood and headlight buckets- very rare and not reproduced- worth the starting bid alone. The car is a 6cly 3spd car that was originally Ivy Green. This car needs a complete restoration. The motor turns by hand but the battery is totally gone and I don't have the keys for the car- old owner couldn't locate since its been off the road for years. I would expect with some parts and tinkering that it will run without pulling the motor. The brake master cylinder is newer but the brakes are gone and need to be redone. I put in a rear seat base thats in real nice shape but its black and will need to be dyed or reupholstered. Like most mustangs the bottom needs to be completely done over since its starting to sag a little- the car needs some exterior sheetmetal work also. There's rust spots all around the car and its hard to say what needs to be replaces versus what can be patched so please see pictures- I can't tell you what it needs unless I strip it. There is surface rust on th car in spots. It had been touched up in areas but I think it needs to be stripped while your doing the metal work so you have a fresh start. Its a power top car. The top frame is there but the top is all riped up. Again- this car needs a full restoration. Please bid only if you have the money, have priced out what it will cost to transport home, and your sure you want it. This gets expensive and time consuming and I don't want to waste other potential buyers time. If you bid and win you own it- if you want to inspect the car come see it before bidding. The car is being sold with a bill of sale only. CT doesn't issue titles for cars this old and I can't register it unless its ready for the road and I dont have any old ones so an official state of CT bill of sale form is all you will get. Foreign bidders check if a bill of sale is ok for you BEFORE you bid. Payment is due within 7 days of auction close and $100 deposit within 72hrs. Payment must clear before the car will be released. Pick-up within 3 weeks of auction close.
