Vehicle Detail

1966 PONIAC BONNEVILLE BROUGHAM 421 TRI- POWER 4 door RUST BUCKET! I serviced this car new at McNamara Pontiac in Orlando in new car sevice. It would smoke the tires then and it still will! (See picture) As you can see the body is gone! The older gentleman (old fart) that bought it new drove it  up and back to NH. and never put it in a garage. He always had it serviced at McNamara when he would come down for the winter. (snow bird)When he got too old to drive he sold it to one of McNamara's mechanics in 1988 and he drove it till 1998 and parked in his yard under a tree(shade tree) and covered with a plastic tarp.(oops) Thats when the rust started !!! He spot sanded on it a couple of times the first few months and thats where it had set for 10 years rusting away. The "421" has been sleeping 2 blocks down the street from my house and he would not sell it to me."Johnny,I'm gonna fix it up one day!!!"Funny how a heart attact will change a man out look on life! He sold it to me 2 years ago and at least i put it in the barn, but now i have a health problem that i am fighting,so now i have it for sale! Enough B.S.   Let me tell you about the car!         I do not know if the mileage is correct or not(who cares, it's a 421 tri-power that runs and smokes the tires. The engine has never been out of the frame, carbs. all original except some of the linkage has been changed by the last owner. Carbs are runnig fat(will need rebuilding) Exhaust leaks. Installed new points, new gas,2 qt. trans fluid, battery, and drove it around the yard with NO Brakes. The car would drive on a trailer, IT IS NOT ROAD WORTHY!  A few good things is the car has not been monkeyed with. It has factory tac(works), gagues with clock, low fuellight, door locks,cruise,a/c, 6 way seat, electric windows, reverb radio. Most Not working, but i just don't have the pep to even check a fuse! The frame has survived being outside with mostly surface rust,no scaling or pitts. It has the original 8 lug wheels with correct spare, spare cover, hold down, and jack. THIS CAR IS ROUGH,BUT IT IS ONE HELL OF A PARTS CAR WITH OPEN FL. TITLE AND CORRECT NUMBERS FOR A 1966 421. The body is not restorable, but has a lot of nice parts. You can email or call to come see the car, hear it run. I am north of Orlando 40 miles in Eustis,FL. My phone # is 352 357 8297. (FL time!) PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING.I may be able to deliver if not too far for a reasonable fee. Thanks for looking, good luck bidding and KEEP THE OLD RUST ROLLING!!!On Oct-01-10 at 05:37:02 PDT, seller added the following information: ENGINE CODE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT OF BLOCK IS Y J and it does have the transfer lug or pyramid next to dist. on passenger side. Fill free to ask any questions about engine. Thanks, JohnnyOn Oct-03-10 at 13:43:31 PDT, seller added the following information: SERVICE BULLETIN: For guys asking more about the 421. 365 is the horse power with the 3 two's. I ran a dry compression check and it read as follows left bank; #1-180, #3-178, #5-180, #7-180,  and right bank; #2- 185, #4- 178, #6- 178, #8- 185. I ran a wet check on the 178 lb cylinders and they did not change or increase. Plugs were all dark but clean with no deposits of oil or rust. As i said in description,no knocks, clicks, or weird noises. I did find that the left exhaust manifold has a crack. I removed(cut) the front and rear carpet and yes,the floor pans are in very nice shape. Very solid and usable both front and rear. A little surface rust, but no pitting or scale.  There is a 1/4 inch square drain hole in passenger side front from a punch to let the Fl. rans run out after the roof rusted out! I was very suprised that the floor pans were so solid! As for 1/4 panels ,no rust out except by left rear door bottom(silver dollar size) and a dent that should pop out by hand? Right 1/4 looks pretty good also.Top, hood, trunk pan, and trunk lid  has all the rust out from being under the plastic tarp and it had vinyl top! The car has the factory electric  antenna and reverb. switch and the original wiring. If you need to know more, please email or call. Thanks again, JohnnyOn Oct-03-10 at 13:48:41 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: SEE LAST PICTURE UPLOADED TO PUNCH HOLE AND CONDITION OF FLOOR PANS. Thanks, Me(Johnny)
