1963 Volkswagen Beetle, 6 volt system I bought the car from a friend of mine who bought it new and has owned it ever since. She said it was never wrecked and well maintained until she parked it, and then it sat for about 10 years. I got it up and running pretty well in 2006 and 2007 for about half a year, and then it started running poorly. We did a compression check which showed 1 cylinder way low. Now, I'm no mechanic, but somebody said it basically needs an overhaul and that's beyond me. Anyway, it's been sitting again for a few years. Now you know as much about it as I do, but if you have questions, please email, and I will answer as soon as I can. I believe this to be a great starter for a restoration project as the body is in way better shape than most I've seen, and I did have it running back in 2007. The car is not running presently, front windshield broken, no radio. Tires are in pretty good shape. Car is sold "as is" with no guarantees implied or expressed.
