Vehicle Detail
WONDERFUL GT6+ FOR SALE. I have owned this car for two years, but driven it less than 15 miles. I bought it to be my next "fun weekend" car, but it ended up in either my garage or the mechanic's garage for most of the two years simply due to my schedule. I have decided to part with it and let someone else have the fun! This car is not perfect, but it is VERY GOOD in every respect. It is solid mechanically, drives well, runs strong, and has a VERY GOOD BODY. The car was always garaged by the owner who sold it to me, and it has NEVER been in the weather since I bought it. (Other than the two or three sunny days on which I got to drive it!) My mechanic is an expert in European makes, and has been through his vehicle with a fine-tooth comb. Here are just a few of the things "polished up" since I bought the car: - seats anchored with original spec bolts - brakes repaired including calipers - remove & repair distributor (new timing components) - light rebuild of both carbs - new fuel pump, filters & lines - misc. bushings, wiring, odds & ends The repair bills were $2000, and yes I have all the paperwork from the mechanic. All told, I have have over $9000 invested in this car. To all you GT6 fans, you know that the "Plus" is the one you want. The only thing this car doesn't have is the overdrive. But it is a SOLID car, that you can drive TODAY. If you want a GT6 to fully restore and turn into a concourse winner, this would be a fantastic specimen ... but the great thing is that it doesn't need anything to drive & show-off right now! Take it to your local cruise-ins or out to one of the regional Triumph events and have fun! I just drove her yesterday (her name is Gina) ... and boy is she a lot of fun. Nice strong engine, solid tranny, and a great roar from the exhaust. The Minilites have good tires on them ... you really don't need anything. It may only be 95 hp, but this little lady will LAUNCH when you hit the gas. As with any similar vintage car, the wiring harness is kinda wonky with lots of soldered & old joints. The main electrics all function, but a new harness would probably be the first project I might tackle if I was going to select a winter project. Headlamps & indicators work. Wiper motor works but slow, and only one speed. Tach, water temp & fuel gauges work, but speedo does not. (Could just be cable, but ran out of time to check.) Obviously, the odometer is not working. I'm sure the mileage is not accurate, but based on the old title and provenance, I really doubt this car has over 50K on it. (Just an educated guess ... not a warranty or guarantee!) Although they may not command as high a price as some of the more exotic marques, you all know that the GT6 is an awesome little car and examples as solid as this one are getting REALLY HARD TO FIND! Yes, I have a reserve, but it is VERY reasonable. If you want this car, I would highly recommend you snatch it up with the BUY IT NOW option. I have been watching eBay all summer, and I have priced this car very competitively. I am happy to answer questions to the best of my ability. Gina is my first Brit, so I am not an expert in the field. (My last car was an Alfa Romeo GTV6.) There are plenty of photos here, and I think you can tell this is a great find. BUY IT NOW!!
