I bought this TA last November from Richmond , VA. I drove it home the 3 hours, it ran great. I drove it to work a few times over the next few weeks, then pulled it in my shop for work. I wanted to upgrade the engine. It had 40K miles on a new engine, but I wanted a bit more power. I added a 218 duration cam, new timing chain and water pump along with headers and new exhaust. The exhaust is a custom mandrel bent 3" pipe from the headers to a new stainless Magnaflow transverse mufflers and twin pipes. The carb is a non-emission Quadrajet. As you can see the engine is detailed to look like a vintage Pontiac engine, not a corporate 305. I got the engine started, drove it around the block and the AC belt came off. I did no more. The AC works, which is one reason I bought this car. One header is leaking and I have not done a final tune. I lost interest and it has sat since May. It needs to go to someone to finish the car. Its a decent body without rust, but it needs paint and small bodywork. The PO painted it with good products, but he couldn't paint :) I have the correct air cleaner for the stock Ram Air hood. The engine as stated, has 40K on it, the transmission has something close, but under 100K miles on it. This is info from the PO and I have no reason not to believe it. The interior is clean and very respectable. If you like early 3rd Gen Trans Am's, this is a good one to have. My starting price will lose me a lot money and of course MUCHO time, but thats what happens when you bail out. Email with questions. Bid with total confidence. I have had a lot of questions and you seem to think there is something wrong with this car. Truthfully, I'm just totally honest in my description. There is nothing wrong with this car, just needs to be totally finished. The timing and carb need final adjustments etc. The engine and trans, before I tore it down, were perfect. Everything ran and worked as you would expect on a low mileage engine. So be totally confident . . you are just getting an honest description, no surprises.
