Vin # 8R02J152001 Decoded: First Symbol-year8- 1968 Second Symbol-assembly plantR-San Jose Third and Fourth Symbol-Body series02- Mustang 2 Door Fastback Fifth Symbol-engineJ-302 Last Six Symbols-production sequence 152001 This is an original California Car. I purchased it from the second owner. The second owner had it since the early 80's. In the early 90's he moved to Minnesota. In 1992 the motor and transmission were rebuilt, new tires and exhaust were installed. After this work was done, it was stored. It has been stored for the last 18 years, only to be started up and driven around to keep things working. After purchasing, I had the carb removed and rebuilt. There is a Holley Carb on it, new battery, and a couple of vacuum hoses were replaced. The 302 V8 motor runs excellent and sounds great. It runs from a remote gas tank, not the one in the car. It will need a new gas tank and fuel lines. The brakes will need to be bleed and may need further repair to function safely. The transmission shifts as it should. In the picture there are a few interior pieces missing however I have those as well as a few exterior pieces. The air cleaner is off of the car but I do have it. It is blue in color and has a 302 sticker/badging on it. Overall this would be an excellent candidate for restoration. There is rust. The rear quarters are rusted through. The door jams surprisingly clean. There is no bondo. It is the original metal. Buy this car, restore it to factory specs, make it a clone, or change the color combination up; regardless by going through things yourself you know exactly what you have. They dont make them anymore and are getting harder to find. You have 7 days to ask any and all questions. Please do not hesitate to ask.
