This 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser is a lease that is getting ready to run out. We have the option to purchase the vehicle or simply turn it in. Our plans were to turn it in but then we thought maybe someone out there would love it as much as we have and decided to sell it and hopefully make a small profit at the same time. The reason we decided not to purchase it ourselves is that we need to use it as a daily driver for 100+ miles/day and need a vehicle that gets better gas mileage. Since the vehicle is a lease the transaction is a little complicated but we've done it before with the 2005 Jetta TDI we leased and it worked out well for everyone involved. We would need to get the full payment from the buyer and would at that time turn the vehicle over to the buyer. We would overnight the payment to the credit union we lease it from to purchase it. They would then overnight us the Maryland title with the lien release (Security Interest Filing) and a notarized Bill of Sale. We would then take the paperwork to the MVA to get a new title in our names with the lien released. It would take 3 to 10 days for the title to be delivered to us. Once we receive the title, we will sign the title over to the buyer and provide a Bill of Sale all of which we would overnight to the buyer. It sounds more complicated than it actually is and we do all the work, not the buyer.
