Vehicle Detail
1973 Ford Thunderbird. 62,113 original miles. 460 4V V8 engine. Automatic transmission. The car runs and drives very well. It is very clean and original under the hood. The body is in exceptional condition. I can't even find a door ding. The original vinyl top is in perfect condition. I can't find a flaw in it and there are no soft spots underneath. The interior is also in very good condition. The seats are cloth with no rips or tears. The shag carpet is also in very good condition for its age. The tires are nearly new. I believe in being totally honest when listing a vehicle so I'm going to mention every little thing I see that needs attention, but keep in mind that this is a very solid and clean low mile car. The paint on the top of the hood and trunk is faded and there are some thin spots from years of polishing. The moldings along the bottom of the body have some dings. The rubber strip on the leading edge of the front bumper has some damaged spots. The driver's door window is not operating properly. The low fuel light is on even when the tank is full. There are some cracks on both door arm rests. The dash pad has no cracks but is starting to show some discoloring from the sun. There is a spot of rust behind the left rear wheel about the size of a dime and another in front of the right front wheel consisting of four or five spots about the size of a pin head. These spots have not broken through the paint and did not show up in the pictures. If you have any questions that weren't answered here please use the "ask seller a question" feature in the auction listing. If you would like to view the car in person contact me and we will set up a time. This car's story is as follows: I bought it from the daughter of the original owner. It was purchased new in Riverside, California, where it remained until 2007. The owners moved to Bend, Oregon, that year and remained there until their passing in late 2009. At that time the car was brought to Sonoma County, California, where it has been ever since. The car was garaged its entire life with the exception of the last year, which I'm sure is what caused the paint fading. Good luck bidding and, should you be the next owner, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Thank you. On Sep-18-10 at 10:46:06 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had several questions and there are a couple of things I forgot to mention. The A/C is not as cold as it should be. I believe it needs a charge. The A/C / heater fan motor is making some noise. The pictures I took of the trunk, back seat and headliner did not turn out. The trunk is in good condition with a few stains on the mat. The jack and spare tire are there. The back seat looks just like the front seat, no rips or tears. The headliner looks good but there is a piece below the headliner and above the passenger opera window that has dropped down about an inch.
