Up for auction today is a 1993 Pontiac Trans Am. I bought this car from a towing company in Georgia. It was a repo car and had sat at the towing company for about 2 years. They finally obtained a title to it and then I purchased it. I had planned on make it a hot street car but I am in the middle of remodeling my house and its sucking up all my money and time so I just dont have the time to mess with the car anymore. This would make a very good father-son project. When I bought the car it didnt have any keys. So I hauled the car to the local GM dealership and had the chip key made for it. When I got back I drained the oil and trans fluid and refilled them both with new fluid and filters. I changed the fuel filter, replaced the coil wire, the coil(used one), and changed the antifreeze. I also put in a fresh 10 gallons of 93 gas. It showed around a 1/4 of a tank of fuel in it before so I can imagine that its very dead gas. I then installed a brand new battery. I spun it over a couple of times and it finally come to life. It does run alittle rough tho. When you first crank it you have to keep it alive for a minute. Im sure it could use a good tune up. Ive tried to run the car as much as possible to get all the dead gas out of it. The more I let it run the better it started running. Still needs a good tune up tho. I did notice a small oil leak after it sat in my shop over night. Looks like the rear main seal is dripping. I havent drove this car any farther than down my road and back. The transmission shifts good and gos thru all the gears nice. It does have so surface rust on all the rotors from not being drove and will need turning to clean them up. Like Ive said the car is a pretty decent car to start with but will need alittle work before going cruising in. The exterior of the TA needs a few things. It has the normal minor dents and dings for a car of this age. The hood has paint peeling. The front bumper has some spider webs and some minor damage on the right front ( very fixable tho). The left rocker molding will need replaced. I replaced the right side one. The rear bumper is torn and will need replaced. The wheels are in decent shape. No major curb rash or nothing but the clear is peeling on them too. The tires are the wrong size and are dry rotted. The cat has been removed and straight piped. It does have a flowmaster muffler on it but has no tail pipes. It actually sounds pretty good. The windsheild also has a crack. The interior isnt too bad for a car that has sit as long as this one has. The headliner is falling down around the center of the T-tops. The front leather seats are alittle rough. The rear leather seats have been cooked by the sun. The door panels and all the plastic trim panels should clean up nice. The dash is heat cracked. The carpet is very dirty and needs replacing. Like Ive said the car isnt junk but needs alittle freshing up. Now your not going to spend a night on it and drive it to work the next morning so dont expect that. I do require the deposit by paypal and the rest of the balance in cash at time of pick-up. I will deliver this car within a reasonable distance free of charge.
