Vehicle Detail

1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe 68,500 miles Selling my 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera with only 68,500 miles. Rare silver with silver interior color combination. No accidents or body work. Clean CarFax. G-50 transmission with limited slip differential. Cold (well cold for a 911) A/C, converted to R-134. No leaks, smoke or problems. Leather is in great shape with no tears. Factory floor mats in excellent condition (I've actually had floor mats on top of them to protect them.) Pirelli P-Zero Nero tires with 6mm tread. Well maintained per spec - Brad Penn 20/50 Racing Oil, recent valve adjustment, air/fuel filters, spark plugs. It has a Momo steering wheel but the original wheel in perfect shape is included with the car. I also installed a remote door lock system that is integrated with the OEM lock relay module. New speakers were installed in 2008 but I made sure they fit exactly like the OEM speakers behind the grills. No dents or curb rash on 16" Fuchs wheels. Includes car cover and battery tender. Current emissions. Independent inspections welcome before the auction ends. Special options from original Monroney sticker (provided with car): Silver metallic paint Special leather - silver grey Limited slip differential 16 inch forged alloy wheels Rear window wiper Front and rear spoiler Alarm system Electric sunroof Ownership history: Owner 1 - 1988-1991, Owner 2 - 1991-2008, Owner 3 (me) 2008-present This is the second 3.2 Carrera that I've owned, and by far the best I've come across. I'll regret selling it, but circumstances require it. Call Richard at 404-787-0777 if you have any questions or need additional photos. Good Luck and Happy Bidding! Detailed Notes on Condition EXTERIOR Being extremely critical of this car...here is the short list of niggling imperfections for the perfectionist. The car has 68,500 miles on it. There are some stone chips on the hood, front bumper, and front valance. All have been "touched up" with factory touch up paint. There is a scratch down the middle of the passenger side door, again "touched up" with Porsche factory paint. It is about 1.5 inches long and very narrow and has been appropriately depicted in the photos. There is a fine scratch above the driver door handle of about 1.5 inches. I took the photo at such an angle to show the scratch at its worst. If you look at it straight on you can hardly see it. It does not need to be touched up as it is only a surface scratch. To the right above the scratch is a very small nick that was touched up too. The trailing edge of the wheel wells has some areas where the paint has chipped away from 68,500 miles of use. Not horrendous or hideous in any way....just some minor paint chipping. INTERIOR There is some wear to the gray shift knob where the tanning has worn off -- again -- the car has 68,500 miles under the care of fussy owners. When a radar detector was installed the folks put two small alert lights on either side of the tachometer, and placed the on/off/volume switch in the rectangular panel next to the headlight switch. The detector has been removed, but the switch and lights remain. They are not obtrusive, and look factory, but they are not OEM. The bolster on the driver side has the slightest amount of wear from owner egress. Again...I am being VERY critical of the wear. It is nominal. Most people won't even see it. I don't want someone who expects the car to be perfect and nit pick it and say I did not mention that it shows some very slight amount of wear. Reputations for honesty are earned. There is an aftermarket Alpine CD player installed. UNDERCARRIAGE Clean and dry. No oil leaks from the engine. There is some areas of surface rust on some parts of the undercarriage, like the chassis tow hooks in the front and the torsion bar caps where bare metal is exposed to the elements and has surface rust. There is NO STRUCTURAL rust on this car anywhere. ENGINE COMPARTMENT The engine compartment is as originally delivered. Mahle filters, Bosch plugs, cap, rotor used religiously. The inside of the deck lid shows some staining where an oil leak was once found. Oil squirted on the inside of the decklid and stained the paint on the inside of the decklid. The repair was made but the stain on the inside of the decklid remains. Again...this is very minor. FRONT TRUNK The factory space saver spare is in place, as is the tool kit, jack, plastic protection gloves and an aftermarket battery tender. No signs of any wear or corrosion to the notoriously rusty front trunk areas of these cars. The fuse panel is intact showing no signs of wear, modification, or compromise. All of the factory carpets are in place, no battery acid holes, no stains, no odors, no mold, no funk. Just good factory original condition. The Fine Print I reserve the right to cancel all bids and end the auction early should I sell the car locally. I do not allow bidding from negative feedback bidders. New bidders with zero feedback should email or call prior to bidding. Purchase transaction must be completed within 7 calendar days of the end of the auction unless other arrangements are made PRIOR to auction end. I reserve the right to re-list or sell the vehicle in the event of a non-paying bidder. Every effort has been made to accurately describe this vehicle to you, and to disclose all information known about this vehicle.
