Vehicle Detail
Our 1992 MIATA still drives like a dream! We've kept it this long because it's been such a fun car to have. It was a fiftieth birthday gift to my wife, and she has driven it mostly in town, hence the low-mileage. There've been no mechanical problems (see notes below), and it just keeps on running like a top. The interior is very clean with little wear - it's never had food in it, and it's not been used to haul anything. The hard top has only been taken off a handful of times (literally). Here are the wear-and-tear and mechanical issues to be aware of: Air bags are inoperative. Windshield has a significant crack. Driver's door lock has been changed, so separate keys are required for door and ignition. The ignition key was also changed at some point, so there are actually three keys - one for the driver's door, one for the ignition, and one for the trunk and passenger's door. There is some hail damage to the hood. The front bumper has a "dent in its kisser" from the license plate holder being bumped into a curb. Paint is worn on the rear view mirror housings, and there is a scratch on the left rear bumper. We repainted the hard top a couple of years ago. The radio works just fine, however the on/off button must have a short or a gremlin of its own. We never turn it off, just down to zero; otherwise, it is difficult to turn back on. The rear window of the convertible top has a defective zipper, so that will likely require replacement. The one time that I tried to change a tire, I discovered that the lug wrench does not fit the lug bolts, which was annoying but as we've kept the car always in town, I've never replaced the wrench. PayPal preferred but certified check will be accepted. Shipping/pickup at the point of sale to be arranged and paid for by the buyer.
