Although this boat does bare the Mercury name plate, they are in fact made by Valiant Marine in Portugal and marketed in the states by Mercury Marine. Valiant is Europe's largest manufacturer of semi-rigid craft and has over 15 years experience in the inflatable boat market. The parent company of both Mercury and Valiant is Brunswick and a world leader in various manufacturing fields. You might be familiar with some of Brunswick's other boat manufactures such as Sea Ray, Hatteras and Boston Whaler. They are one of the few Marine builders in the world to be ISO 9001-2000 certified, making their attention to detail and construction on the highest level in the marine industry. More commonly referred to as RIBs, they are considered to be one of the most versatile boats in the world. While extremely light in weight, they handle some of the toughest seas and will take almost any abuse you might subject it to. You truly get the best of both worlds, a sturdy fiberglass hull, with light inflatable upper construction that is virtually unsinkable while taking the brunt of the heavy seas. The upper portion consists of 7 totally separate inflatable chambers and will keep the boat afloat even if the lower fiberglass hull is significantly damaged. Additionally the lighter weight will allow for more performance with less horsepower(boat itself weighs 1,100lbs), thus lowering operating costs. Lastly, RIBs have more carrying capacity than traditional fiberglass models, in some cases allowing you to double the number of occupants. This particular V 620 has had just 1 previous owner and is in great condition. The boat originated around the San Antonio, Texas region, but I do believe it was used in saltwater in addition to fresh. The lower bilge is in excellent condition with very little sign of saltwater use. Of course from the pictures you can see light spotting on the PVC inflatable portion, I assume from mildew. I see NO signs of abuse, NO signs of tearing, and NO signs of separation on ANY of the seams! I have inspected the entire lower fiberglass and found everything to be in excellent condition, NO gouges and NO beaching. I did notice some light stress cracks on the sides of the upper transom, but nothing cracking or separating. The front portion still has the factory rubber keel guard in place and it does have 2 damaged area, 1 from it resting on the front trailer roller, and another from where it once rested on the front trailer bow stop. I will leave the keel guard in place, or be happy to remove it for its new owner. Cosmetically the guard looks bad, but it will continue to protect the keel. I have not seen any damage under the guard and there is NO damage in the 2 damaged areas. All of the seats are in good condition with NO cracks or burns, only the front starboard bow seating cushion has a rust stain on it. It will come with the bow filler cushions and the factory carrying case(please note the sun damage on the nylon case and the repair of the case). Powered by a 2006 Mercury Marine 150hp Optimax 2 stroke outboard, this boat will move. Even at 3800ft above sea level I was able to run this boat at close to 50mph. Not only will it perform, it will perform effortlessly, planing out in just seconds! I am not certain about fuel consumption, but I would estimate it at 30% fuel savings from the same sized boat in total fiberglass. I did have the local Mercury outboard dealer inspect the engine complete a full diagnostic as well as perform any necessary updates. At only 42 hours, this boat is just now being broke in. It is equipped with a 19-pitch Vengeance stainless steel prop that is in excellent condition. The lower portion of the skeg did require a little black paint, but looks all original with no signs of previous damage. I have had boats in all shapes, sizes, and configurations and was defiantly impressed with the overall build quality of this V 620. The wiring is very notable in that the wire is run to junction boxes and the wire is not only insulated, but they are then grouped together into another insulated jacket. This practice helps to eliminate wiring problems and corrosion due to the intrusion of saltwater. Many smaller builders simply take wires and group them together and place terminals where ever they see fit, this is NOT the case with Valiant, no cheap wiring connectors! It is equipped with 2 batteries, one under the console and one under the seat in front of the console. There are tons of other notable options as well. First off, an extremely nice stainless steel tower with remote spot light. Secondly, a bathing platform with stainless steel ladder. Next, a stainless steel ski mast. Lastly, a freshwater washdown shower with 40 liter tank. This boat was once equipped with full Garmin Navigation and Plotter system. The head unit itself has been removed, but both pucks, transducer, wiring, and complete networking systems remains intact. Due to the rapidly changing GPS market, I will let the owner decide what route to go on any GPS decisions at his or her own expense. This boat is sitting on a 2006 Continental single axle trailer and will be included in the sale. It is galvanized metal and still looks good. The tires are original, and while have good tread, are a little misshaped due to under inflation. Even the smallest vehicle will have no problem towing this boat and trailer. In closing, this boat is a very rare find and has a new replacement cost of over $50,000! You can own this boat for close half price! Please keep silly offers to yourself, I do understand that not everyone is looking for a RIB, but they are very rare and very expensive to replace. Additionally the RIBs have a very large following around the world, just do simple Internet search and you will find forums and blogs from around the globe.
