Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is an excellent conversion of a Volvo 264 to a 5.0 HO Mustang drive train. This car was converted a number of years ago by a friend of mine who has been in the Volvo business for years. He started with a clean Southern rust and damage free 264 GLD. The diesel car is the one to convert as it has stock the lowest numerical real axle, great for the V-8, and the heaviest duty springs.. Using a manufactured conversion kit available at the time, installed a Mustang drive train with about 3K miles. The engine, stock headers, AOD trans, Ford A/C compressor P/S pump, and the entire engine management system from the Mustang. What resulted is a very clean, well engineered trouble free vehicle. This car has been a daily driver for the last 8+ years approaching 100K on this conversion. This car has been well cared for with routine engine and trans services. This is an easy to live with, and a fast, fun to drive car. All systems are in place and work as they should, heat, A/C, power windows, etc. The Ford EFI has been flawless, hot or cold twist the key and drive away, no screwing around with a carb and warm-up or hot starts. I asked to buy the car if he ever sold it, and bought it about 3yrs. ago. I have been doing the cosmetic things it has need for awhile. These include a respray, a set of properly refinished "Turbo" wheels with new tires, center caps and lugs, cleaning and detailing of the interior and replacing some of the weathered trim parts. I also replaced the power steering rack and master cylinder in the last 1K miles. Car also has IPD sway bars and strut tower braces. What it needs: I installed a set of Turbo gauges and a cluster mounted tach, they all need wiring. I have a small Volvo OEM clock to replace the turbo boost gauge. There is a small oil leak that I think is coming from the foward oil sump, leaks so little I have not felt motivated to run it down. Thats pretty much it, the rest of the car is very sound. Please note the small dents in the trunk lid where my wife dropped and object on it shortly after it was painted(grrrr). Also headliner is clean white, the tan is reflection of interior. This is a daily driver, and not a show car, bit its damn nice! Follow the rules of the listing. I am requiring a $500 non refundable deposit immediately at the close(serious buyers only!). Contact me if you have less than 10 positive transactions. Vehicle sold as is, no warranty. Email any questions, Im sure I havent coverd it all. Cars of this age in GA. are non-title, however I do have the original title signed over to me, and a current Ga. tag and registration, will be sold with these and a bill of sale. " Listed locally, subject to local sale! Please read the instructions of this auction and abide by them, or please dont bid!! I feel the car is probably worth more, but like a lot of people these days Im in a tight for money! Thanks for looking! 09-10-10- Just returned from a friends who has a lift. Found the above mentioned oil leak to be as simple as a loose clamp on the power steering return hose. Repaired and found no other leaks. I have been asked if servicing the 5.0 is difficult in the Volvo. It is actually easier than in the Mustang it came from. The 200 series cars were originally designed to accept the now famously miserable Volvo Peugot Renault V-6. This engine is much wider than the small block Ford, so there is plenty of room to "get at" what you need to.
