Superb car that received an extensive restoration in 2004 and has been rarely driven since. A large folder of receipts is present documenting the restoration. Some RS Components are present on the car--I cannot verify these parts are original to this car so being sold as a Factory Built 1969 Camaro SS396 X22 only, not an SS/RS. Exterior; The car was taken down to bare metal and all body panels in need were repaired or replaced, portions of each floor pan were also replaced, then the car was professionally repainted Black with White stripes and a Black vinyl top . The Paint has a mirror finish and looks outstanding, there are no problem areas. The white stripes are Painted on. The factory original color was the coveted code 72 Hugger Orange with Black vinyl top. The following are a few of the items that were replaced in 2004; bumpers and bumper guards, exterior dual rear view mirrors, reveal moldings, drip rail moldings, wheel well moldings, emblems, antenna, door handles and rocker moldings and all are still in like new condition. Perfect vinyl top--only two small areas required repair upon removal of the original vinyl top--no hidden problems under this top. Most of the Weatherstripping was replaced in the restoration. The underhood insulation was replaced and is like new. The Tires are in excellent condition, riding on four Rally Wheels. New front and back spoilers. The Windshield is a replacement--it is like new. All window glass is original and roll up and down with ease. The Hideaway headlights operate only by hand. Interior; The steering wheel is in great condition. The code 712 Black deluxe interior was fully restored. The seatcovers--front and back ,the dash pad, headliner, door panels, sill plates, door handles, window cranks, locks and carpet are all in great condition, all replaced in the 2004 restoration. There is a small spot on the dashpad that shows some wear( near the AC switchs) and the drivers door panel has a small crack in it which is visable in the photos as a white line. Console and automatic shifter in excellent condition. Has optional Tach and Console gauges all of which work perfectly. The optional in dash clock does not work . The original radio is not present--a JVC CD player replaces it with two Pioneer speakers in the rear package tray--sounds great. The trunk floor is solid however there are a few places under the matt in need of repair with small holes/soft areas(see photo). The taillight housings/lenses and sidemarker light assembly's are new . Does not have a spare tire or jack. Mechanical; An excellent running and driving car, it needs nothing. The 396 engine has a new camshaft and lifters, timing chain, starter, alternator, Mallory ignition, Holly Four barrel, Edelbrock Performer 2.0 manifold, chrome valve covers and Hooker Compitition headers. It is not the original 396, the Engine code, Clearly stamped into the block is ; T0408JB T= Tonawanda 04=April 08=the eighth day JB=1969 396/325 HP Camaro Motor So an April 8 1969 Block, while this car was built in the forth week of Febuary 1969. The original motor for this car would have been a 325 or 350 HP 396 as the top of the line 375HP/396 could not be ordered with a car with Factory AC like this one. The 3" Exhaust pipes, mufflers and tail pipes were installed in 2004 and are in fine condition. The Turbo 400 Automatic operates smoothly. Power Steering. Power front disc brakes. A 10 Bolt rearend with Positive Traction is now under the car--from the factory a 12 bolt reared would have been installed, I do not know the present gear ratio. The suspension is very tight and the car drives Great. The pictures should speak for themselves. A $200 Non refundable deposit is required at the end of the auction. Thanks for Bidding. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NO RESERVE --THE AUCTION WILL NOT BE ENDED EARLY Sorry, but we are not interested in any trades. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have any further questions--e-mail me.
