2005 Lotus Elise Please check out my 100% positive feedback on eBay - I've been on eBay for 8 years and have a perfect selling record, and I hope this shows I take good care of my items and buyers. I fell in love with this car as soon as I purchased it back in July of 2009. I drive it every weekend - it is the perfect "dinner in the city" or "daytrip to wine country" car. This is an extremely light and fuel efficient car. I get approximately 25MPG. Many of the major components in the car are aluminum, even the frame and chassis! It is bizarrely light and this leads to the great gas mileage. I've cared for this car meticulously. It has received routine detailing, waxing and polishing. It has a Bentley of Beverly Hills front plate and Bentley of Beverly Hills front/rear license plate frames. This car has lived in a garage and with a cover on it. I have never driven it in the rain. I've never taken it to the track. I own the car outright - there is no loan on it. So no messiness with having to pay for it and then work with a bank to get title for it. I have title in hand and in my name. I am only selling because I am planning on transitioning to an NSX, so I'm in no rush to sell. I still enjoy it every weekend. It has a salvage title from the original owner, which was prior to the previous owner that I purchased it from. This was apparently because the car had an accident that involved the front right corner and rear of the car. Unfortunately, I have little to no information on what happened because it was two owners ago and the person I bought it from didn't have any info on it. All I care about is that it runs smooth and safe, which it does beautifully. If the salvage issue or the fact that its been in an accident bothers or scares you, please move on to a different Lotus. As of the writing of this ad, the odometer has approximately 19,500 miles. Immediately after I had the new Optima Yellow Top battery installed, I noticed that the gauge cluster needles were all zero'd out. I didn't know this at the time, but apparently this is normal and the procedure to reset the gauge cluster after a disconnect of the main battery is to turn on the ignition, leave the driver's door open, and push the odometer reset button for 4 seconds. Not knowing about this, I ordered a new gauge cluster and replaced it. I drove for 402 miles on the new gauge cluster before finding out that I could have simply done the reset procedure above without buying a new gauge cluster. Not wanting to let the mileage drift off too far from accurate, as soon as I found out this was normal and there is a reset procedure, I immediately replaced the original gauge cluster and did the reset. So the actual mileage is 402 miles higher than what it shows on the odometer. The car has some small scuffs and scratches - these minor blemishes are small enough that they were difficult to get picked up in the photos. There is a small crack in the front air collector fiberglass directly hidden behind the front license plate. If you look really really closely, you can find small evidence of the repainting work that occurred apparently when the car was repaired from the original accident - but no one who has ever driven with me in the car or admired it has ever known it was involved in any kind of accident or salvage. The AC/heating work great, but I recently had to replace the fuse to the interior blower fan and it recently stopped blowing again. I'm told that this is because it needs a new part called the "blower motor resistor pack replacement" - this is apparently quite common for the 2005's of this model and they're is some sort of service bulletin on this. Google "blower motor resistor pack replacement" if you want more info - this will be up to the buyer to replace. California registration renewal just paid for! So its registered in CA until August 2011. Will gladly cooperate with your choice of auto shipper. Since its an exotic vehicle, I recommend using "enclosed" transport if you arrange to have it shipped. This will cost a little bit extra, but is well worth it given that this is a beautiful car.
